When Sachin’s at the crease……!!

                                                                                                                     18/06/99

 When Sachin’s at the crease……,

The bowler’s confidence seems to cease,

Though he stays where he is,

The ball disappears with the breeze.

When Sachin’s at the crease,

Problems loom over ball makers,

Balls are lost every now and then,

With his huge huge sixers.

When Sachin’s at the crease,

The commentators see strokes,

They might never have seen,

And to a carnival the might never have been……!!!

When Sachin’s at the crease,

The heavens seem empty and unfilled,

‘Cause all the Gods and Devils alike,

Are over the stadium, watching the maestro skilled ……

When Sachin’s at the crease,

Runs flow thick ‘n’ fast

The bowler’s too depressed,

And the spectators there till the last.

When Sachin’s at the crease,

The scorers are the busiest,

Adjusting scores through 4s and the 6s,

Not to mention, keeping track of the run fest…!

When Sachin’s at the crease,

The commentators have a carnival

Watching strokes all round the wicket,

And, those too, made to look so simple……,

When Sachin’s at the crease,

Moving hands up and down and sideway ,

The umpires have a good exercise,

Beside keeping the bowler at bay.

When Sachin’s at the crease,

I plead to you o readers…!!

Have at least some sympathy for the bowlers……!!
