Did you know that you could multiply faster than a calculator?
Yes, it's true; you
can indeed multiply faster than a calculator, but only for the eleven times
table. Most of you already know this trick but for those of you who don't,
here's how it goes. Lets get an example, lets say "54 x 11" for instance.The answer is 594. Ok, here's how you do it. First you split the two digits, which is 5 and 4. (5_4) Then you add them up. So, 5+4 would be 9. Then you put the total in the middle, between both the digits. (594) Tada! There you have it, 54 x 11 = 594. Impressed?
Now take another example, lets say "83 x 11". First you do the same thing, split both the digits 8 and 3. (8_3) Then as mentioned, you add them up and insert the total in the middle. (8 + 3 = 11) Here is the tricky part, for totals that are more than 9 or have double digits; you have to add them in a slightly different way. The working for it is below.

Again, if the total
of the two digits add up to more than 9, which is usually a double digit,
you add them up as above. The back number doesn't change. All you have to do
is just to push the total one digit in front and there you'll have it, 83 x
11 = 913.With a little more practice, you will be able to do it faster than someone using a calculator. Cool, eh? Spread the word.
