What causes temptation?
Temptation is often caused by one's lust for acceptance. People often go against their own morals and beliefs in order to gain some respect from other people. Often, it's peer pressure that give people that little nudge to throw them off the ledge and into a pit of despair. Whatever the reasons are, it always leads to pain and regrets.
People often get involved in crime in order to gain acceptance. Such acts of crime involve underage drinking, drugs, theft, cow tipping, etc.. It may seem fun at first, but once they get caught doing it (it being a crime, not what you're thinking you perverted little monkey), they're going to be banging their head against a wall saying how stupid they are, and end up being grounded to their house for numerous months. Temptation could be something less serious, but still consequential. For example, an overweight guy is hankering for a slice of pizza, but is hesitant due to his severe heart problem. Giving in to his temptation, he satiates his hunger with the grease-soaked pizza, and dies of a heart attack. The only thing that makes this situation less severe is that the guy can't regret his decision to eat the pizza, because he's dead!
Temptation only becomes a problem if the victim of desire is weak minded and has no individuality. People acting on the bases that everyone else is doing it makes society seem more like an intertwined organism that acts as one whole being rather than individuals working to make themselves unique from the rest of the world. Without individuality, our faces become nothing more than masks, changing to the current of the latest styles and fashions.
