Meh, I don't care for this one, it has some seriousness in it.
Do you think the U.S. should become involved in foreign affairs?
Of course the U.S. should become involved in foreign affairs. As one of the leading powers in the world, the U.S. has an obligation to protect it's own interests, as well as the interests of other. If a country decides to raise their oil prices to phenomenal rates because they got their feelings hurt from an American calling them smelly, then we should be able to invade their country and take their oil from them to secure our interests. Or if an imperialistic country invades a neutral peace-loving country, then the U.S. should be able to aid the invaded country in whatever way possible in order to keep the peace within other areas of the world. If they didn't, it would be like if a police officer, holding power and authority, ignoring the fact that a hobo is getting pummeled in the back alley by a bunch of moustached weirdoes. It is that officer's job and duty to defend the citizens of his city from harm and to make people feel safe when they have people like him around. Instead of the cop, we have the U.S., and instead of the city, the world. In the recent events, the U.S. has sought out war with Iraq, and millions of people have been objected to it. I don't see why we shouldn't, considering Suddam is a raving lunatic (with a moustache) who has deadly bio-weapons at his disposal. Anyone who is willing to test a weapon on his own people has no place in this world, nor any other world for that matter. Even the countries surrounding Iraq support the U.S.'s war effort against Iraq, and I'm sure Iraq itself wants Suddam out of power. Only reason they're not openly going against Suddam is because if they're caught doing so, they're dead. Besides, U.S. troops were already in Afghanistan, a quick stop in Iraq on their way back home won't make too much of a difference. The main thing that people see when the look at the war is that the U.S. is going to war against Iraq for weapons that they may or may not have. They're not seeing how this war could help raise the wealth of Iraq, and get rid of the dictator, Suddam, who obviously has plans to rule the world, I mean just look at that moustache! Look at it! |
