David's Antique Radio Room

Notes:

Welcome to David's Antique Radio Room! My radio hobby encompasses a wide variety of interests. Besides being involved in scanning, shortwave listening, and amateur radio, I also collect plastic and bakelite tube radios from the 1950's. I wanted to share a part of my antique radio collection with others who find post World War II radio design as fascinating as I do, so I've put together this slideshow to showcase some of the more interesting sets I have on display. Enjoy, and let's start the tour!

This is a Packard Bell model 5R1. It was produced in several different colors, including green, white, beige, and the chocolate brown model seen here. Packard Bell had a reputation for producing high quality radios, and the 5R1 combines good styling with excellent sensitivity and selectivity.
