Website Notes and Navigation
Notes:
-For the love of jebus, learn to use the home, end, pg up, and pg down buttons for easier scrolling of the longer pages of this site...and for other websites in general. It's good for you, I mean it!
-Many graphics have comments for you to uncover when you hover your cursor over them...how fun!
-This website is best viewed with 1024 x 768 resolution...but so is everything. I did make it so the site isn't too big for 800x600 bums...what a hassle!
-Better use medium sized text too. (Internet Explorer > View > Text Size > Medium)
-After using a different computer to view this site, I've found that even using the aforementioned settings will not do. For some reason, I can't get text size to work properly on a certain computer, and thus, text is gigantic and greatly distorts alignment.
Navigation:
How do you navigate this site?
-Clicking on a button (left navigation bar and "features" buttons) will take you to a contents page that will explain what that category of pages has to offer. Go ahead...click the "Archives" button on the left navigation bar.
-The navigation bar shrinks to display only the links of the category and the a link to the home page. To access stuff outside of the current category, click "Home" and go from there.
-News links will lead you to a page with its own simple layout. The whole shrinking of the left nav bar and the simple news page layout is to get rid of the clutter. After the home page, play time is over, kiddies. The rest of the site is meant to deliver as much content as possible without any other distractions. The home page is meant to be puuurty and show the reader/viewer/user a ton of options and display the vast amount of crap that this site has to offer at a glance.
-The simple layout, among other reasons, is used because I'm very lazy and without .php know-how, I can't update every page's layout if I find a mistake in it. So if they have different layouts, a bug found in one only affects the pages using that layout. There are 25 or so pages (not counting news or article pages) and updating every single one due to one small error in their layout would be way too painful. Instead, maybe 5 or so pages will have to be changed if a bug is found in the layout that they share. Get it? Well I don't care...bottom line is that it's easier for me and me is what counts, fool. Don't let your mommy tell you otherwise.
