This shitty blade can actually be fun…and in rare cases, useful. It does high damage, so it’s good for those face to face close combat. It’s much more quiet…as long as you hit a player and not the wall. The ability to throw it is more significant than you might think. I haven’t actually done this myself, but I’ve seen guys actually chuck knives so they fly over boxes and hit a poor bastard! So in a stand off, and you’re pretty close to the enemy, and you have no more nades, you chuck knives up and over the punk’s cover for a quick kill.

Ass-fast fire rate eats up clips fast. Goes WAY inaccurate if u hold the trigger for more than a second, so burst fire. However, you really only whip this puppy out for close combat. All those guys that think they’re cool for walking around with an Uzi and then get whipped from mid-range by a rifle or something like that…they’re idiots…there's no reason for them to walk in wide open areas with an uzi since that's what primary weapons are for! Still good with some burst fire. Each bullet does more damage than a few pellets from a shotgun, so you have lower chance of hitting a guy compared to shotgun, but you’ll deal more damage if you do. Despite this, if you hit a sad-ass with a shotgun and most of the pellets hit, WAY more damage than a few uzi hits. So I just go with shotgun since the point is to kill a guy at short range with only a few direct hits. Even so, the uzi is a fairly good secondary weapon.

I realize this thing makes a really cool sound, but not only does it look pitiful, but it is pitiful. You only use this in combo with USAS (*shudder*) or sniper rifle if you want. Basically, if you have a slow-firing or short-ranged main weapon, choose this as your secondary gun. It can be deadly, in the hands of VERY good people, but I see too many Sub-Machine guns on the floor 'cause the sub-users died…and their left behind M3a1 is their tombstone.

When you use this while jump crouching, you can kill soooo fast (as explained in the tips/hints page). Only problem is its inaccuracy beyond 10ft and slower fire rate. It’s still possible to hit, but damage will be very low. Whip this puppy out later on in the round since your enemy will probably be weakened to the point where a hit or two will send him to depths of hell. Whip it out when patrolling more confined spaces too (elevators, kitchen, etc). However, headshot with this gun is much harder since it shoots shotgun shells that spray pellets, not bullets. It still happens, but usually you just eat away like a nasty biotch at their health. Another minor problemo: armor absorbs the pellets, so direct hp damage is harder, but damage is so high that armor won’t last long anyway. Also, this is one of two guns that reloads one bullet at a time. So its slow to reload all 9 bullets, but you can stop the reload by pressing the trigger right after the 1st bullet has loaded.

The dreaded auto-shotgun. Take the raw power and inaccuracy of a regular shotgun and make it shoot really fast. You got the cheapest weapon there is. However, don’t fret too much, because it can be countered without using it yourself. Either blow him up with the M203 attachment of the M4 or just kill him from afar. Please, do not use this as your weapon of choice since it truly displays no skill. The only thing stopping me from prohibiting the use of this weapon for L&P members is that banning a gun seems rather pathetic. The gun was put in the damn game so it is a part of the damn game. Bottom line: USAS-users are frowned upon by ALL and is banned in most servers.

AK74? Why not 47? Well thank your lucky stars that it’s not the AK47. That gun might have been extremely powerful, but it was also extremely inaccurate. I’m not sure exactly how realistic SOF2 is, but AK74 does exist for the purpose of being a little less powerful, but a lot more accurate with less recoil. The bayonet is just an added bonus…hehe. With burst fire and crouching, this gun is very accurate and very deadly. Good all around weapon. The weapon of choice for many.

Trade accuracy for a grenade launcher. It’s nice to be able to kill with a well launched M203 nade, but you only get 2. Therefore, when you run out of M203 nades, I suggest you find another weapon on the floor. This is because the M4 assault rifle is rather inaccurate. This is due to the shorter length of the M4's barrel so the M203 could be added on. Yes, you can burst fire, and yes, it is still as powerful as the other assault rifle, but this requires shorter bursts. So basically, you can't hit a guy with as many bullets as an AK since you hafta fire in shorter bursts. It’s just not as practical as the AK. Just use it’s nades, then find an AK if you can. Another bottom line: M203-users are accused of being noobs by many. Sure, it doesn’t require much skill to right click, but you have to consider the arch that the nade will travel and the time it will take for the nade to travel. Even with all these aspects, it can be used for actually “bombing” the helipad or even from the helipad (aim high for a huge/long-ass arch that will travel fairly far).

Oh jeez. This thing is crazehehehe. Basically, it’s incredibly inaccurate. The only good part is that you don’t have to reload too often with a 99 bullet “clip” and you can rush people with it. It’s mainly to provide cover fire and merely weaken your enemy. Not very practical since it has high recoil and low accuracy. One of those incredibly hard to master weapons, but worth the effort if successful. I feel that the gun is best for indoors because that's closer quarters which means less accuracy is needed and running around with guns blazing is more successful.

Sniper Rifle: Sneaky approach to killing

If you’re new to the game, please don’t think that sniping will be so fun and easy. The deal is, you’re vulnerable while sniping since you walk while in zoom mode and you usually only camp while using this weapon. If someone rushes you while strafing, you sure as hell better switch to your secondary weapon. Despite this, the gun is one of the most useful, fun, and deadly. Say you’re on blue team, all your teammates are dead, you have the case, but you just know that the red dudes are hovering around the helipad. Snipe ‘em all one-by fudging-one. I had to do this once. Luckily, there were only 3 reds to cap and the time limit was still generous. Bottom line: find a good spot to snipe, but don’t be afraid to dash for another spot to keep your enemy guessing. Always snipe behind cover. Good for red to snipe from helipad (watch the scaffold, though) and good for blue to snipe at the helipad. Don't get too cocky, though. You don't need to zoom in so freakishly far unless you're on one side of the building and they're on the other. If you zoom unnecessarily, it means it'll be harder to find the enemy and keep track of him, and the recoil that causes your gun to flinch up after each shot will seem more dramatic.

MM1: Grenade launcher

Note: This weapons is usually only available in deathmatch modes unless the server changes weapon options by him/herself.
This baby is basically the M203 grenade launcher, only it's faster, has more ammo, and is mainly for deathmatch games. Just like the M203, the nades must be arched for longer shots, and is very deadly to the point where you can kill yourself! Also, this is the other gun besides the shotgun that reloads 1 round at a time. Thus, you can stop the reload in the middle and shoot what has already been loaded. This fun weapon is easier to use than the M203 since it is just all around faster and better.

Can't stand having to arch shots with the grenade launchers? Then the RPG-7 is just what ya need! This bazooka look-alike fires a missle type armament and it fires fast 'n straight. This is great for across the hall shots. Unfortunately, you are limited to only 3 "missles". So you better be ready to drop it and pick up some other weapon in your game plan.

Explosive grenade: its what it seems like…a nade that blows up.
Good when going for the kill. Basically, use it to do direct damage for rushes or general purpose. Can instantly kill multiple victims at once if thrown correctly as described in the tips/hints page.

Incendiary grenade: creates a small fire upon exploding.
Can instantly kill people if thrown correctly upon its explosion. However, once the flame has been created, the damage radius actually decreases. It lasts about 10-15 seconds and is great for creating a small wall to block off enemies.

Flash grenade: creates a blinding flash upon explosion.
The effect of the grenade varies on distance from victim. It is useful, but more difficult and it won’t get you out of jams like the above nades. This is because, you need to know where the enemy is, and you need to be able to rush them right after the flash while avoiding any defensive spraying the enemy might do when vulnerable. Also, it CAN blind your friends if they were really close to it when it exploded. So be careful here.

Smoke grenade: a cloud forms when this one goes boom.
The puffy smoke lasts quite some time (at least 30seconds), but it is hard to use since it affects everyone. You better have a plan if you’re gonna use this. For example, if you where thermal goggles, you can see through the smoke while others can’t see you. However, its unlikely that the opposing team won’t shoot into the smoke because they suspect you’re there. They may throw a nade of their own and you wouldn’t notice!

Accessories:
Just use armor since you can only pick one accessory and armor is the most practical.

Armor:
Wooweee! Boy is this crucial! It absorbs bullets and especially shotguns. Of course, it won't last long. Just think of it this way, it almost doubles your life (except for headshots, limbs, explosions)...so without it, you die twice as fast!

That holy strip of grey/black above the hp meter is crucial to your survival.

Night Vision:
Okay. This is purty useless in the MP Test since the map is fairly well lit except for parts of the roof. So just don't use this unless you chillun' on the roof. The only good thing about NV is the ability to use it during sniping (when using scope). The thermals can't touch that! Even then, the lamps will kill ya. Ha!

Thermal Vision:
Now this is useful. Use it in combo with smoke grenades so that they can't see you but you see their body heat. This accessory almost allows for you to see through walls. It definently allows you to see through cover. So it's pretty good for camping snipers, and if you're good enough, with other weapons.
Still, the lack of armor will really hurt your chances of survival...

A few notes about the weapons and this page:
-It is technically possible (except for shotguns) to shoot from one side of the map to the other and hit someone, it's just really hard with certain weapons.
-The weapons were put in the game by the developers. Thus, every weapon is PART OF THE GAME. So don't whine about the use of a cheap weapon, DEAL WITH IT! Take advantage of the weapon's weakness. Just because a weapon is cheap doesn't make it illegal. Banning a weapon is like taking out a part of SOF2. So don't kick, flame, or insult someone just because they use a certain weapon. Only insult them after they've displayed a true lack of skill dealing with something like aiming, burst fire, etc...hehe
-The difference between "to" and "-" is that "to" means from one to another, and "-" means in between. So "short-medium" range means it's not quite a short range weapon or a medium range weapon...it's in between. On the other hand, "short to medium" means that it is a weapon for short and medium ranges, and everything in between.
