The Celtic Heus or Esus was a mysterious god of Gaul. The Irish form was Aesar, meaning, he who kindles the fire, and the Creator. Hesus was acknowledged in the British Isles. ... As the Breton Euzus, the figure is not attractive looking. Dom Martin styles Esus or Hesus "the Jehovah of the Gauls." ... Leflocq declares, "Esus is the true god of the Gauls, and stands for them the Supreme Being, absolute and free." The name occurs on the altar erected in the time of the Emperor Tiberius, which was found in 1711 under the choir of Notre Dame, Paris. |

"The Sun is the Son of the Creator, who is referred to by the Druids as the higher Sun of the circle of Infinitudes above the Zodiacal Sun." God was regarded through the symbol of three letters or rods, representing the light, or descent of rays, the true Logos. Hu, the divine Sun, was the Menw incarnate. Esus cutting down a willow-tree. The god is shown in his usual role as a wood-cutter and is engaged in chopping down a willow-tree in the branches of which can be seen a bulls head and three egrets. The particular legend associated with this scene is not known but marsh birds often appear in Celtic iconography in connection with solar deities, in their role as gods of healing and occasionally as war-gods. |

More than 20 claims of this kind--claims of beings invested with divine honor (deified)-have come forward and presented themselves at the bar of the world with their credentials, to contest the verdict of Christendom, in having proclaimed Jesus Christ, (the only son, and sent of God: "20 Messiahs, Saviors, and Sons of God, according to history or tradition, have, in past times, descended from heaven, and taken upon themselves the form of men, clothing themselves with human flesh, and furnishing incontestable evidence of a divine origin, by various miracles, marvelous works, and superlative virtues; and finally these 20 Jesus Christs (accepting their character for the name) laid the foundation for the salvation of the world, and ascended back to heaven.

If Christ were God, then the religion He established is true, and the Church He founded is the true Church. We can believe everything He says, even without understanding it, because God cannot err. If Jesus Christ were not God, then Christianity would be a farce, and the sooner it were done away with the better. If Christ were not God, then He were an impostor who, by claiming divinity, had led billions into error for almost 2,000 years. 4. The church teaches that Jesus Christ is God. It's teachings have spread throughout all nations, in spite of untold obstacles. The Church has grown by the simplist of means, its spread ever accompanied by wonderful miracles, by which God designs to show forth the truth of the Church. The doctrine of the divinity of Christ is the foundation of Christian religion. 5. Even the enemies of the Catholic Church have admitted their belief in the divinity of Jesus Christ.
