THE BIBLE AND THE QUR'AN
MUSLIMS AND THE BIBLE:

Some muslims quote Jeremiah to say that the Bible itself speak about the alteration of the Holy Writings.
Here is Jeremiah 8: 8  often quoted:

“How can YOU men say: “We are wise, and the law of Jehovah is with us”? Surely, now, the false  stylus of the secretaries has worked in sheer falsehood."
But the context says :

"9 The wise ones have become ashamed. They have become terrified and will be caught. Look! They have rejected the very word of Jehovah, and what wisdom d they have?"

Obviously they rejected the word of Jehovah but a prophet like Jeremiah himself and the faithful jews did not. Actually the book of Jeremiah condemned the great apostasy in Israel but also give promises of the blessing on a remnant of faithfull servants. Those did trust JEHOVAH and his word.

In the BIBLE itself we find many texts where GOD says that he will protect his Holy Writings, and this is confirmed by a text in the QUR'AN:

Surate 6:34: "Rejected were the messengers before thee: with patience and constancy they bore their rejection and their wrongs, until Our aid did reach them: there is none that can alter the words (and decrees) of Allah. Already hast thou received some account of those messengers."

Interestingly this text speaks about the messages given BEFORE Mohammed, and therefore makes us understand that the BIBLE ( Torat, Zebur & Ingil) must be preserved. This is also a confirmation of those texts in the BIBLE:

Deuteronomy 4: 2 YOU must not add to the word that I am commanding YOU, neither must YOU take away from it, so as to keep the commandments of Jehovah YOUR God that I am commanding YOU.

Psalm 12:  6 The sayings of Jehovah are pure sayings,
As silver refined in a smelting furnace of earth, clarified seven times.
7 You yourself, O Jehovah, will guard them;
You will preserve each one from this generation to time indefinite.

Psalm 119:89 To time indefinite, O Jehovah,
Your word is stationed in the heavens.

Isaiah 40: 8 The green grass has dried up, the blossom has withered; but as for the word of our God, it will last to time indefinite.”

Isaiah 55: 10 For just as the pouring rain descends, and the snow, from the heavens and does not return to that place, unless it actually saturates the earth and makes it produce and sprout, and seed is actually given to the sower and bread to the eater, 11 so my word that goes forth from my mouth will prove to be. It will not return to me without results, but it will certainly do that in which I have delighted, and it will have certain success in that for which I have sent it.

Matthew 5: 18 for truly I say to YOU that sooner would heaven and earth pass away than for one smallest letter or one particle of a letter to pass away from the Law by any means and not all things take place.

Galatians 1: 8 However, even if we or an angel out of heaven were to declare to YOU as good news something beyond what we declared to YOU as good news, let him be accursed. 9 As we have said above, I also now say again, Whoever it is that is declaring to YOU as good news something beyond what YOU accepted, let him be accursed.

Hebrew 4; 12 For the word of God is alive and exerts power and is sharper than any two-edged sword and pierces even to the dividing of soul and spirit, and of joints and [their] marrow, and [is] able to discern thoughts and intentions of [the] heart

Hebrews 6: 17 In this manner God, when he purposed to demonstrate more abundantly to the heirs of the promise the unchangeableness of his counsel, stepped in with an oath, 18 in order that, through two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled to the refuge may have strong encouragement to lay hold on the hope set before us.

1 Peter 1: 24 For “all flesh is like grass, and all its glory is like a blossom of grass; the grass becomes withered, and the flower falls off, 25 but the saying of Jehovah endures forever.” Well, this is the “saying,” this which has been declared to YOU as good news.

2 Peter 1: 19 Consequently we have the prophetic word [made] more sure; and YOU are doing well in paying attention to it as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until day dawns and a daystar rises, in YOUR hearts. 20 For YOU know this first, that no prophecy of Scripture springs from any private interpretation. 21 For prophecy was at no time brought by man’s will, but men spoke from God as they were borne along by holy spirit.

Revelation 22: 6 And he said to me: “These words are faithful and true; yes, Jehovah the God of the inspired expressions of the prophets sent his angel forth to how his slaves the things that must shortly take place.

Rev 22: 18 “I am bearing witness to everyone that hears the words of the prophecy of this scroll: If anyone makes an addition to these things, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this scroll; 19 and if anyone takes anything away from the words of the scroll of this prophecy, God will take his portion away from the trees of life and out of the holy city, things which are written about in this scroll.

A close study of the Holy Scriptures may help us to grow in faith and accurate knowledge.

2 Timothy 3: 16 All Scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be fully competent, completely equipped for every good work.
PSALM 119:105: YOUR WORD IS A LAMP TO MY FOOT, AND A LIGHT TO MY  ROADWAY.
