Thou shalt love thy neighbor as
thyself
|
Jesus Christ, Savior, Redeemer,
Son of God
|
 |
Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world, he died to pay
the price of sin. He is the son of Father and lived as man in the
flesh to give the world the perfect example. It is written,
"I am the way, the truth and the life, no man cometh unto the
Father but by me." (St John 14:6). Jesus is our mediator with
the Father. If we live the same as Jesus lived, then we are
promised eternal life. "For God so loved the world that he
gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not
perish, but have everlasting life." (St John 3:16). To
believe in Jesus is to do what he has said. |
Church of the Nativity -
Birthplace
|
 |
Over two thousand years ago a babe was born in Bethlehem,
his name is Jesus of Nazareth. Today the birthplace is marked by
beautiful ornamentation provided by the Franciscans. It is
written, "And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him
in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no
room for them in the inn." (St Luke 2:7). The star marks the
place where Mary gave birth to the Lord Jesus Christ. |
Garden of Gethsemane - Olive
Tree
|
 |
Jesus lived to teach the world about God's ways and he
died to save mankind from their sins. Jesus taught, "And if
he trespass against thee seven times in a day, and seven times in a day
turn again to thee, saying, I repent; thou shalt forgive him." (St
Luke 17:4). Christ suffered the greatest pain in Gethsemane,
"And he .. went .. to the mount of Olives ... And being in agony ..
his sweat was as it were great drops of blood.." (St Luke 22:39,
44). |
The Garden Tomb - the Holy Sepulchre
|
 |
"And they found the stone rolled away from the
sepulchre. And they entered in, and found not the body of the Lord
Jesus. ... they said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the
dead? He is not here, but is risen." (St Luke 24:2-3,
5-6). Not many days after Christ was resurrected he spoke to one
of his apostles saying, "because thou hast seen me, thou hast
believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have
believed." (St John 20:29). |
