She woke up the next day. It was Friday. ‘Great now I have to get up and go to school. I hope it goes better than yesterday. Those boys were so mean and the one that hit me, I would love to have him burn in Hell.’ She thought. She ran out the door after she ate and did her stuff and went to school. The sky was very dark and cloudy and a few telltale drops hit her hand. The rain started to pour. She walked to school and by the time she got halfway there a motorcycle pulled up next her. The person took off his helmet and shook the hair out of his eyes. It was Bakura. “Hop on.” He yelled over the thunder. She got on and clung to him as he sped down the street.
When she got inside she was soaked. Bakura walked with her to her locker so she wouldn’t be bothered as she grabbed an extra shirt from it. She ran to the bathroom and changed. She shoved her wet shirt in her locker and walked with Bakura to algebra. She smiled at him as he left to go to his class.
Algebra had even worse Boys than English. These boys kept on trying to touch her and when she went up to the board a boy would hit her butt and smirk when she scowled. The teacher was a male and sexist. So any abuse she was subject to she couldn’t say anything about it.
The bell rang and she stood up. The boy who kept hitting her butt followed her out. He was completely oblivious of Bakura’s presence. He pushed her down. “Watch what your doing bitch!” he sneered. She stood up with tears in her eyes and punched him. He went flying into the lockers. The other boys, including Bakura took a step back. The boy staggered to her. “See you at lunch whore!” he hissed. Bakura grabbed the guy’s arm and twisted it. “What did you call her?” he asked. The teacher came out and pushed her down the get to Bakura. “Young man let him go and report to Time Out!”
In the middle of her next class a boy tried to touch her again. She grabbed his arm and flipped him over her seat. The teacher looked at her and gave her a pink slip. “Time Out room.” He said calmly. She smirked at the guy and walked out of the class to the room. She looked in and the teacher was gone. She walked in, took a seat next to Bakura and left the slip on the teacher’s desk.
Bakura looked at her. “What did you do?” “I threw a guy for touching me.” “Oh. Well at least I have some company now Tiana.” She blushed and looked away. The teacher came in and read the slip and shook her head. Tiana looked down and felt tears forming. ‘Why me? Why is it that I am tortured somehow?’ Bakura watched her hold back tears. “Why are you crying?” “I didn’t want to fight but I did and it feels bad.” “I fight and look at me.” “Yeah a thug who gets in trouble half the time and somehow manages to keep his confidence.” “Wow, a way with words I see.” Tiana blushed a deep red.
The last bell of the day rang and they were allowed to go. It was still raining and the wind had picked up a bit. “Wanna hop on? I’ll take ya home so you don’t have to walk in this storm.” “Sure.” She walked with him to his motorcycle and got on and held onto him as he started to go. They arrived at her house and she got off. “Thank you Bakura.” “Oh its nothing really, can I have your phone number?” She looked a bit taken back and nodded. “S-sure lemme go in and get it for you.” She ran in and put her stuff up in her room and scribbled down her number. She ran out and saw him sitting on the porch swing. She felt his piercing gaze turn to her. She handed him the paper.
He took it. “You wanna meet in the park tonight?” “Sure. How about 11 pm? That’s when my grandparents go to bed.” “Sounds fine. See ya-“ he was cut off by her kissing his cheek. He blushed and walked down the steps and waved to her one more time as he gunned the engine and sped off.
She went inside and did her homework. “Tiana is dinner time.” Called her grandmother. “Coming gramma.” Tiana called as she slid down the banister. She went to the kitchen and sat down to eat.
Bakura was pacing inside his soul room. Ryou sensed his yami’s strange behavior worried him enough to enter Bakura’s soul room. “Call or not call, call or not call. Damn! Why does this have to be so hard?” “Because she is a female. Duh.” Came Ryou’s voice. Bakura whirled around with a scowl on his face. “WHAT ARE YOU DOING IN MY ROOM? OUT!!!!!!!” Ryou paled as Bakura advanced menacingly. Ryou ran out of his aibou’s room so fast that a cheetah would have trouble keeping up. Bakura glanced at his watch. 10: 50! He ran out and snuck through the window of his hikari’s room to the park.
Tiana dressed in black and found a cloak and put it on. Her gramma’s snores were loud but just as a precaution she did the pillow trick and snuck out the window of her room on the second floor. She landed on all fours like a cat. A car passed by and she ran as soon as it passed. She ran to the park and took off the hood of the cloak and looked around.
Bakura spotted a figure run into the park but when he got to where it was it was gone. The trees rustled with a slight breeze. “BOO!” “AHHHHH SHIT!” he screamed as Tiana jumped down from the branch she was hiding on. “Am I good or what?” “You scared me to death Tiana.” Bakura gasped. She patted his back. “Sorry about that. I just had too.” “I know it’s a great night for pranks.” Tiana rolled her eyes and walked with him to a bench. She removed her cloak to reveal a strapless black body suit. Bakura’s jaw dropped as she let her hair down. “Its nice out here.” she said looking at the cloudy sky. “I think its gonna rain here soon Tiana.” “its gonna be a windy thunderstorm.” She said as a breeze popped up again.
Bakura looked at her and then he looked at the sky. A few raindrops hit them and it lead many more raindrops. Soon it was pouring and a bolt of lightning cut across the sky like a jagged knife. She put the cloak over the both of them and they ran for the nearest dry place. Bakura pointed to a small metal bus stop and they ran for it. They reached it and collapsed on the bench. She pulled the cloak off of them and wrung out her hair. She yawned and laid down on the bench. Bakura looked at her sleeping form and put her cloak on her. She shook slightly and frowned a little. He picked her up and took her to her house.
The door was still unlocked so he walked in silently. He crept up the stairs with her to her room. It took him five minutes to find it. He found a room with a big bed with a lot of weird texts on a desk and Egyptian artifacts and digging tools. He laid her on the bed and covered her up in her covers. She stirred. “Where am I?” “Shh. I think this is your room.” She looked around to locate the voice. “Bakura? Yes we are in my room.” Bakura sighed with relief.
Tiana sat up and turned on her computer. “Its 1:55 am, Bakura. Shouldn’t you go home?” “Nah. Tomorrow is Saturday so nothing for me to worry about.” “Well my gramma will be up at 6 to get the paper and she checks on me around 6:30. So as long as you’re gone home by then you can stay.” Bakura sat on her bed next to her.
Tiana chased him out to change then called him back in. The storm was still raging so he really couldn’t leave anyways. It was five in the morning when the storm stopped. She walked him downstairs to the front door. “Tiana, I just wanted to say sorry it didn’t go to well tonight.” “Its okay. It was fun anyways.” She smirked. He was about to leave when she turned him around and kissed him. “Thanks Bakura. Do you want to meet again tonight? Same time same place?” “Sure.” He replied, trying to mask his shock of feelings he finally felt.
He went back to his soul room and collapsed on his bed. He finally felt feelings of love and trust after about five thousand years. He smiled into his pillow and anticipated the next night.
To the Batcave!
