Summary: The girls are
returned to Yami and the others.
“ TALK DAMN YOU!” Malik
screamed as he slapped Melanie across the face. “ Tell how to find pharaoh
Umi,” he growled, “ I told you I don’t know,” Melanie said weakly. “ And even
if I did I still wouldn’t tell you,” she growled. Malik became infuriated; he
once again slapped Melanie hard, making her fall to the ground. Her body was
bruise and soar from the torture she had been going through, her clothes were
covered in blood. “ You are pathetic,” Malik growled as he turned away, “
you’re lucky that I need to keep you alive to find Umi.” Melanie just stared at
him; he turned to look at his servants, “ take her away,” Melanie’s eyes
widened in horror.
“ Get in there,” the henchman
growled as he threw Melanie into the jail cell, leaving her on the floor, “
Mel,” Kathy screamed as she and Claire ran over to her blood soaked friend. “
Are you okay,” Claire said sorrowfully as Kathy helped picked up Melanie, “
yeah, I’ll be fine, I should heal in a little while.” “ Thank goodness,” Kathy
said sternly, “ we thought he killed you, “ “ no,” Melanie said in pain, “ we
have to be alive to find Umi.” “ Don’t worry, we’ll find a way out, and if we
don’t, Yami and the others will find a way,” Claire said cheerfully, Melanie
grabbed her breath, “ I hope so.” Melanie looked back down at the ground, Bakura…wait for me.

“ Melanie!” screamed Bakura as
he woke up from his sleep in a cold sweat. Bakura started to catch his breath, was it a dream? He thought, or was it real? It had been a few weeks
since the girls had been gone; the others had been trying to find a way to save
them, but no luck. Bakura dug his fingers into his pangs, Melanie…you’re in trouble, but how can I help? It’s not that hard dear Bakura a voice said from the other side
of the room. In the corner of the room stood a shadowy figure shaped like a
woman “ who are you?” Bakura growled, the figure didn’t speak, “ who are you?”
Bakura repeated coldly, I am pharaoh Umi the voice said,
Bakura’s eyes widened in amazement, “ pharaoh Umi?” That is correct Bakura
Umi replied as she nodded, Bakura just stared at her. Bakura I know that you love
Melanie, you always have, and now your afraid that she’ll leave you for not
trying to save her Umi said. “ Its not fair, she was supposed to be
with me,” Bakura said as he closed his eyes painfully, I know, this wasn’t supposed to
happen, but I know how you can save her.
Bakura looked at her again,
“ how?” Call for Melanie; give her your energy, when she has enough she will be
able to break out of Malik’s prison. “ How do I call her?’ Bakura
asked, you and Melanie have a special bond to each other, Umi started
to say, use that bond to call her, and she will hear you if you do. “
All right, but if it doesn’t work, I swear I’ll kill you,” Bakura said
maliciously, Umi gave out a little giggle, you’re still the same, Bakura looked
at her in confusion, farewell Bakura, I hope to see you again,
Umi said as the figure started to disappear, “ wait! Pharaoh Umi!” Bakura
exclaimed, but it was too late, the figure was gone. “ Call for her, but when?”
Bakura said to himself.

(Breath, Breath) Umi tried to catch her breath as she laid on the green grass, “ I have to hold on,” she said as she struggle to sit up, “ I have to save them.” Umi’s eyes started to water, “ Yami…”

“ Should I send the henchmen
to go after Yami and Bakura’s millennium items?” asked one of Malik’s servants,
“ no,” he said coldly, “ I have a better idea…”

Call on her Bakura thought as he walked down the sidewalk, but when? He kept thinking over and over
again. But his thoughts were interrupted when he heard someone calling his
name. “ Hey Bakura, wait up,” he turned to see Yugi and the others running
toward him, “ what?” he said cruelly as they caught up with him, “ we’ve been
lookin’ for you,” Joey said, “ we have an idea on how to find Melanie and the
others,” Tea added. Bakura laughed inside his throat, “ thanks but no thanks.”
The others looked at him in shock, “ what do you mean? Don’t you want to find
them?” Tristan asked, Bakura glared at them, “ the only person I care for
Melanie, the other two can rot for all I care.” “ What?!” Joey and Kaiba
growled, Joey walked over to him a grabbed him by his shirt, “ you wanna say
that again.” “ How can you say that Bakura?” Tea said in disbelief, “ there are
our friends.” “ Wrong, they’re your friends, not mine,” Bakura growled, Joey
was mad no, “ you bastard, I cant believe Mel would love someone like you,”
Bakura just looked at him in anger.
“ Well in that case, if
you’re gonna be that way, I won’t help save Melanie at all,” Kaiba growled as
he crossed his arms, everyone looked at him, “ Kaiba!” Tea exclaimed, “ not you
too?” “ I only care of getting back Kathy, the other two don’t matter,”
everyone gasped, “ me too,” Joey added as he let go of Bakura, “ Joey not you,”
Yugi said. “ Claire’s my only care right now, though Mel and Kat are my friends,
I don’t love them,” Joey replied. “ Come on you guys,” Tristan said, “ don’t be
stubborn,” “ Tristan right,” Yugi added, “ we shouldn’t have our emotions get
the best of us.” “ Do what you want but I have work to do,” Bakura growled as
he walked away, don’t do this Bakura, a voice said inside his head, pharaoh Umi? He thought, yes,
you can only find Melanie if you stick with them, she replied. But…he started to think, no,
there’s no other way. Bakura gave a big sigh as turned around to the
others, “ I’ve changed my mind, I will help you,” the others looked at him in
confusion, “ what made you change your mind?” Kaiba said, “ no of your
business, let’s just find them and get this over with,” Bakura growled.
“ Awe, how sweet,” a voice
said from behind them. They turned to see where the voice was coming from.
There standing behind them was a little girl; she had blood red hair and was
wearing a little pearl white dress. “ Who are you?” Bakura asked, the little
girl had a wicked smile spread across her face, giving out a little laugh, “
figures you wouldn’t recognize me my dear Bakura, what my older form sees in
you I don’t know,” the little girl said wickedly. “ What?!” Bakura growled, “
what do you mean?” The little girl gave out a wicked laugh, “ it’s me Bakura,
think.” But before he could think about it, a strange white glow surrounded the
little girl, then, slowly appearing above her looked like a red haired girl, it
was Melanie. “ It’s Melanie!” Yugi gasped, “ that’s right Yugi, that is
Melanie, and I’m her younger self, I’m known as Chibi Melanie,” Chibi Melanie
said cruelly. “ You cant be,” Tea exclaimed, “ Melanie never acted like this,”
Chibi Melanie closed her eyes, “ that might be true if I was the good Melanie,
but I’m also known as Dark Melanie.”
“ Where’s the real Melanie and
the others?” Yugi growled, “ she’s with Malik,” a voice said from behind Chibi
Melanie. Out walked out of the dark came another little girl, this one had long
orange hair pulled back by a gold and red clasp, also wearing a white dress
except a bit different. “ Who are you?” Joey asked, the little girl smiled
wickedly, “ I’m known as Chibi Claire,” she said as she crossed her small arms,
“ no, you cant be,” Joey exclaimed as his fists tightened. “ They just don’t
wont listen will they,” she said as she turned her head to look behind her. The
others looked to see another little girl; this one had short black hair, also
wearing a white dress, “ apparently not,” she said coldly as she looked at
them. “ Great another little kid,” Tea whined, “ wait, if that’s Claire, and
that’s Melanie…” Kaiba said is eyes widened as he looked at the black haired
girl, “ that would mean you’re…” “ Yep,” the girl cut off, “ I’m known as Chibi
Kathy.”
Yugi’s millennium item started
to glow, transforming into Yami. “ I see, Malik must have split them from the
girls bodies and erased their memory so they obey his every command,” Yami
said, “ Malik is brilliant, sending us to get the millennium items,” Chibi
Kathy said. “ Brilliant? He’s a monster doing this to you,” Bakura replied
coldly, Melanie chuckled a little, “ that’s your opinion,” “ but now its time
for business,” Claire added, “ give us your millennium items,” Kathy added. “
Sorry I don’t think so,” Yami laughed, making the girls smiled disappear from
their faces, “ you might be evil, but I can tell you don’t have any power,”
Bakura added. “ Very good, but we don’t need it, you’re not going to attack
us,” Claire replied “ and why not?” Tristan growled, “ because if you destroy
us, you’ll destroy our older forms as well,” Kathy replied wickedly. “ The only
way to stop them is to get them back into their original forms,” Yami said, “
good luck,” Melanie laughed.
“ Split up,” Yami exclaimed to
the others. They quickly ran in different directions. “ Oh, cat and mouse,”
Claire said joyfully, “ lets play this game for awhile,” Melanie said wickedly,
they then turned into black shadows and disappeared.

“ I think I’ve lost them,”
Joey said through his breaths as he finally slowed down at a nearby alley. “
Good, I did,” Joey exclaimed still trying to catch his breath. “ That’s what
you think my dear,” a voice said from behind him. “ He jumped a bit as he
turned to see Chibi Claire sitting on the bottom of a ladder. “ Claire, don’t
do this, don’t you remember me?” Joey exclaimed, Claire gave him a wicked
smile, “ Of course I know who you are, you’re the man that’s in my way of
getting the millennium items.” “ No Claire, its me, come on, remember,” Joey
exclaimed, Claire let out a wicked laugh, “ you idiot, get it through your
head, I’m not Claire.”

“ Why are you running?” Chibi Kathy said wickedly as she cornered Kaiba into a corner in another dark alley, “ I don’t bite…hard.” “ Why are you doing this Kathy?” Kaiba exclaimed, “ this isn’t like you.” “ Why don’t you get it in your head, I’m not Kathy, well, not exactly,” Chibi Kathy growled, “ yes you are, you just have to remember,” Kaiba replied. Chibi Kathy chuckled, “ there’s nothing to remember, and how could you possible know about me.”

“ Come on Bakura, this games getting’ old fast,” Chibi Melanie growled. “ Stop this, this is insane,” Bakura exclaimed. “ That might be, but if being insane is this fun, then its fine by me,” Chibi Melanie giggled. “ I bet if you remembered yourself you would see what I’m saying,” Bakura growled, Melanie gave a look of interest, “ a new game…okay try me.”

“ Yes you are, you are Claire Montiago,” Joey started, “ the girl who loves chocolate eclair’s, the girl who wanted to see the world when she left high school.” Chibi Claire lifted herself and walked toward him, “ the girl I fell in love with,” Joey ended. Chibi Claire’s eyes widened and started to water, “ I remember,” she muttered as a tear dropped from her cheek.

(Kaiba & Chibi Kathy)
“ I know you love the watch thunderstorms,” Kaiba started, Chibi Kathy gave a little chuckle and shook her head, “ I know how much your friends mean to you…” Chibi Kathy kept shaking her head in disbelief, “ I know you wish you could have had a life with your parents.” Chibi Kathy looked at him with her eyes wide at that comment. “ My parents…” she muttered, Kaiba stared at her as she walked toward him, “ they didn’t want me to dye yet, they wanted me to live.” A tear slide down her face, “ I remember.”

(Bakura & Chibi Melanie)
“ Okay, give it your best shot, make me remember,” Chibi Melanie dared. “ You love poetry, I know you can’t stand pink, you want to be a book writer when you grow up,” Bakura replied. “ Not clicking,” Chibi said wickedly, “ I know your alone right now,” Bakura said, Chibi Melanie looked at him, “ what?!” she gasped. “ I know you’re alone Melanie, you said you didn’t want to be alone anymore.” Chibi Melanie eyes started to tear, “ I remember.”

All of the sudden, the flash of light surrounded the Chibi’s, lifting them into the ground. With another flash, the Chibi’s were changed into their older forms (a.k.a. Melanie, Claire, and Kathy).
“ Kathy!”
“ Claire!”
“ Melanie!”
Melanie slowly opened her eyes to see Bakura. But then, she let out a loud scream, making Bakura jump a bit; Melanie started to let off a strange glow, making her disappear and jet into the sky.
On the other side of the city, Kathy and Claire also let off a strange glow and jolted into the sky. Making a huge blast of light surround the city (it was now dark). “ What’s goin’ on?” Yami exclaimed as he put his arm over his eyes to protect himself from the blinding light. On the other side, Joey, Bakura, and Kaiba were running toward the center of where the light was. “ Hey you guys!” some one yelled toward them, they stopped to see Tea and Tristan running toward them, “ what’s going on?” Tea exclaimed. “ They girls are in that!” Joey replied, “ WHAT!” Tea and Tristan said in unison. “ Come on lets go,” Bakura growled as they started to run again.
As they got to the center of the light, they didn’t see the girls at all. “ Where could they be?” Tea asked, “ You guys,” they turned to see Yami running toward them, “ where are they?” Yami asked, “ In that,” Kaiba pointed to the barrier of light. Great Pharaoh Yami, a female voice echoed, Yami and the others looked toward the light; all of the sudden, a bolt of light came and hit Yami’s millennium puzzle. “ Yami!” they others gasped, the bolt then bounced back that the barrier, letting off another flash going up the barrier, showing three colors; red, purple, and white. It was then that the guys could see three figures in the middle of the barrier; it was the girls, except a little different.
Melanie was wearing all gold and white. She wore a white dress that cut in a “v” shape at the bottom. She wore gloves and boots that went to her knees. On her shoulders she wore a gold cape. And on her head she a “v” shaped ornament as a headband with a big jewel on it.
Kathy wore a purple dress, which made many “v” shapes at the bottom. She had black wing-looking objects in her hair; that had a big jewel on each side. She had short black boots and gloves on her.
Claire wore red and gold. She a big red clasp in her hair that had wings on it. Her dress was all red and at the bottom was trimmed gold, which was cut into 4 “v” shapes at the bottom (two on each side). She wore medium boots and gloves.
“ Wow, look at them,” Tea gasped. Pharaoh Yami, the voice echoed, Yami looked up into the sky. I…am…Pharaoh Umi, the voice said through her breaths; Yami gasped as he heard that. “ Umi, where are you?” Yami replied, he waited for an answer but it didn’t come for awhile. No…Yami…you cant…not yet, Umi stuttered through her breaths, “ what?!” he gasped. Please protect the girls, they are the only ones that can help now, Umi explained, “ Umi!” Yami exclaimed, he waited for the answer. Yami, please…protect them, Umi whined, “ please, wait, I have to ask you something,” Yami replied. Yami… Umi said painfully, please wait…like you did a millennium ago, “ what do you mean by that?” Yami asked. He waited for an answer but it never came, the voice disappeared. “ I wonder what happened,” Tea muttered, “ oh cares, right now, let’s get the girls,” Kaiba growled as he ran toward the barrier.
As they got there, the girls were still asleep, slowly being dropped to the ground. Kathy slowly floated into Kaiba’s arms, Melanie into Bakura’s, and Claire into Joey’s. “ Are they okay?” Tea said with worry in her voice. “ I think they’re okay,” Joey replied, it was then that the girls started to glow again. Their outfits disappeared and turned into bracelets, leaving them in their normal clothes. “ How bizarre,” Bakura muttered, he then heard Melanie start to stir, she slowly opened up her eyes to see Bakura looking at her. “ Bakura…” she said moaned as she brought he hand to her is face, “ hey you,” he said softly. Joey then heard a moan come from Claire; she then slowly lifted herself, digging her fingers into her hair, “ Claire!” Joey exclaimed with joy, Claire looked at him, her eyes widened and began to water. “ Joey!” she replied as she wrapped her arms around his neck and started to cry.
Kaiba kept his eyes on Kathy, but she never woke up. “ You guys, something wrong with Kathy,” Kaiba gasped, the guys looked over to Kathy, “ what’s wrong?” Melanie asked, “ she won’t wake up,” Kaiba said with fear in his voice. “ Oh no!” Claire gasped. “ Kathy,” Kaiba said as he lightly shook her; nothing happened, “ Kathy,” he exclaimed as he shook her harder. “ Stop shaking me,” he heard someone muttered, he looked to see Kathy’s eyes slightly open, “ Kathy,” Tea said with joy, “ you okay?” Kaiba said softly. Kathy slowly lifted herself, “ yeah I’m okay, just tired.” “ Good,” Kaiba said as he gave a sigh of relief.
While the others were helping the girls, Yami was looking into the sky. Pharaoh Umi…he thought, what did you mean when you said like you did a millennium ago.

“ Yami,” Umi said as she tried to lift herself from the ground. “ Please…wait for me,” she muttered as tears fell down her face.

“ DAMN! How could this have happened?!” Malik screamed in anger. “ Now Yami has all of the protectors and he’ll use them to find Umi for sure.” Malik screamed.
