Summary: The Valentines Day
Dance is coming up and Yugi wants to ask a certain someone to go with him.
“ All right lunch time,”
Claire jumped with joy as she and the rest of the girls started to walk toward
the cafeteria. “ The days almost done with, yay,” Claire added, “ thank
goodness,” Kathy said with relief, “ come on you guys, school isn’t that
boring,” Kasumi replied. “ That’s only because you’ve only been here for a
month, of course its not boring to you,” Tea replied. “ Hey guys look at this,”
Melanie exclaimed as she stopped at the bulletin board. “ The Valentines Day
Dance is coming up,” Melanie said as she pointed to a big poster that was in
all red and pink with a couple dancing, “ oh I almost forgot that the 14th
was coming up,” Kathy said. “ Well I think I’ll go,” Tea said, “ me and Tristan
have been planning on going to this for months.” “ I think I’ll go too, Joey
and I would have a great time,” Claire added, “ same here with Bakura and me,”
Melanie finished. They then turned to Kathy and Kasumi, “ what about you Kathy,
who do you wanna go with?” Tea asked, Kathy face went bright red, “ well, I
was…kinda thinkin me and Kaiba should go, I mean, just as friends,” Kathy said,
though she lied about the friend’s part.
“ How about you Kasumi?”
Melanie asked, “ I don’t know, I mean, I cant really think of anyone who would
want to go with me.” To be honest Kasumi really wanted Yugi to ask her to the
dance, but she was sure he wouldn’t bother asking a shortcake like her. “ Oh
come on, there’s probably tons of guys who would love to go with you,” Claire
encouraged, “ yeah, I bet Yugi would love to ask you,” Tea added. “ I don’t
think so,” Kasumi said sadly. “ Well we’ll just have to wait and see wont we?”
Kathy said.

“ So tired…” Joey moaned as he
and the other guys started walking to lunch. “ Would you stop whining,” Kaiba
growled, “ yeah,” Tristan added. “ Shut up,” Joey exclaimed, “ come on you
guys, don’t fight,” Bakura replied, “ yeah, or the girls will get mad, you know
how they are about that stuff,” Yugi added. “ Yeah your right, hey guess what,
I hear the V-Day dance is comin’ up,” Joey said, “ yeah, Tea and me are gonna
go,” Tristan replied. “ I think I’ll ask Melanie,” Bakura said, “ she loves
stuff like that,” “ yeah, Claire and I should go too,” Joey added. “ What’s the
point,” Kaiba growled, “ oh so I take it you’re not gonna go Kaiba?” Bakura
asked, “ actually I was think of askin’ Kathy, I mean as a friend,” Kaiba lied.
“ What about you Yugi?” Tristan asked. Yugi looked down at his feet, “ well, I
was thinkin’ of askin’ Kasumi, but…” “ oh come on Yug, Kasumi would love to go
with you,” Joey encouraged. “ Are you kiddin”? She’d probably want to go out
with a tall, strong guy than go out with a weak shortie like me,” Yugi sighed.
“ No way,” Bakura said, “ lets just wait and see,” Kaiba muttered.

(Two days later)
“ So, have you guys thought about the V-Day Dance?” Tea asked. “ Sure have,” Bakura said as he softly held Melanie’s hand, “ Melanie, will you go with me?” “ Well…” Melanie said just to tease him, “ yes,” she agreed. “ Wanna go to the dance Claire?” Joey asked, Claire gave him a big smile, “ yes I will.” “ So Kaiba…” Kathy started as she turned to see Kaiba eating one bit of his sandwich, “ wanna go to the dance?” Kaiba then gave a growl meaning he was thinking, “ I don’t know, I could have something goin’ on that night,” he said (sarcastically) as he pulled out his agenda/ planner; Kathy’s face tightened with anger, but then she got an idea to get back at him. “ Oh yeah, you do,” Kathy said, “ What!” Kaiba said as he looked down at the 14th on his planner, and within a split second Kathy quickly snapped the book closed, right on Kaiba’s nose. “ Don’t be a jerk Seto Kaiba, now do you wanna go or not?” Kathy growled, Kaiba glaring at her as he started to rub his nose. “ Yes all right, I’ll go with you,” he finally said.
The girls then looked Kasumi and gave her look that only she knew (ask him); the guys gave a look only Yugi knew about (ask her). At that moment both Yugi and Kasumi opened there mouths to speak, “ oh, you go first,” Yugi said, “ no you go ahead,” Kasumi urged. “ Well…um…I…was kinda wonderin’…if you…wanted…to go to the dance with me,” Yugi finally said, Kasumi’s eyes widened, did he just ask me to the dance? Yugi looked at her, she’s gonna say no, I know it, he thought sadly. “ Of course Yugi,” Kasumi finally said as a smile spread across her face, “ you…will?” Yugi stuttered in amazement, “ Yug, she said she wanted to so don’t complain,” Joey said out of no where. “ Great, the dance is tomorrow so we have shopping to do,” Kathy and Tea said as they jumped with joy, “ yay,” the other girls exclaimed; the bell then rang. “ Okay, girls will meet after school,” Kathy said as she picked up her books, “ k,” the others agreed.

“ Finally, shopping without the guys,” Tea said with relief, the girls started to laugh, “ its true, we never go shopping, just us girls without the guys comin’ along,” Melanie added. “ So where do you guys wanna go first?” Claire said. “ I don’t really care,” Tea replied, “ why don’t we go to your store Kathy?” Kasumi said, “ this girl is smart,” Kathy said, “ yeah, your store as almost everything, I’m sure we’ll find something for us there,” Melanie added. “ Works for me,” Tea finished.
After about two hours, almost all of them were able to find something to wear to the dance. Kathy decided to get red leather pants and top, in the middle of the top was a streak of black that also went down each side of pants; she also bought black boots and jacket to match. Melanie decided to wear a short red dress with a small jacket. Claire got a red top with a pink heart and a red skirt. And Tea decided to buy a spaghetti strapped pink shirt and a long pink skirt. The only problem was finding something for Kasumi; they tried hard but still couldn’t find something that would be a real jaw-dropper.
“ Come on Kasumi, let us see,” Tea urged, “ no, I’m embarrassed,” Kasumi said from behind the curtain. “ Come on, I’m sure you look good in it,” Melanie said, “ yeah,” Claire added. “ No way, you guys will think I look stupid,” Kasumi replied, “ come out Kasumi,” Kathy urged loudly. “ Fine,” Kasumi finally said, “ I’m coming out, don’t you dare laugh,” she finished, she then slowly came out from behind the curtain, everyone looked in amazement. Kasumi came out in a short Chinese dress, with a lovely golden sakura pattern coming down one side. “ Kasumi, you look great!” Tea exclaimed, “ really?” Kasumi said hopefully, “ yeah, guys, will be dropping like flies at the sight of you,” Kathy said triumphantly. “ Yeah,” Kasumi said with a big smile, but there’s really only one boy I want to be a jaw-dropper to.

(Day of the dance)
“ Kathy you ready to go?” Kaiba said as he knocked on her bedroom door (just to let you know, they live together now) “ yeah, just a sec,” Kathy said from behind the door. Kaiba gave a big sigh, girls… “ Okay, I’m ready,” Kathy said as she opened the door, Kaiba felt like his jaw gonna drop to the floor. “ Kathy you’re hot,” he exclaimed, “ did it take you till now to think that,” Kathy joked. “ No, I mean, wow,” Kaiba stuttered. “ Thanks, come on, lets go or we’re gonna be late,” Kathy said as she tried to hurry out the door; but she stopped as Kaiba grabbed her wrist and pulled her into his body. “ What’s the rush,” he said huskily as he softly wrapped his arm around her, “ Kaiba, come on, don’t you wanna go?” Kathy asked. “ I’m kinda thinkin’ that we could just here and have our own romantic evening,” Kaiba purred. “ Kaiba you animal,” Kathy exclaimed as she started to laugh a bit, “ and your point,” Kaiba replied. “ Come on, lets go to the dance and then we can do whatever you want after the dance,” Kathy said, “ promise,” Kaiba asked, “ yeah, now lets go,” she said as she dragged Kaiba out the door.

(Over at Bakura’s place)
“ Mel, how long does it take you?” Bakura exclaimed as he waited outside the bathroom, “ don’t you want me to be beautiful for this night?” Bakura heard Melanie say from behind the door, “ yeah,” Bakura answered. “ Then hold on!” Melanie screamed, making Bakura jump a bit, “ okay I’m ready,” Melanie said; she then opened the door. “ Okay lets…WOW!” Bakura exclaimed at the sight of her, “ well how do I look?” Melanie said as she twirled so Bakura could see the whole outfit; Bakura tried to say something but no words came out of his mouth, Melanie laughed. “ I’ll take that as a yes,” she said as she walked toward him and grabbed his arm, “ now we can go.”

(Over to Yugi and Kasumi)
Knock, knock, Yugi knocked on Kasumi’s front door of her apartment. Yugi took in big breaths, he was really nervous about this; he tightly clutched on the box that held a corsage he bought for Kasumi to wear. “ Coming,” he heard someone say from behind the door, Yugi jumped a bit he then saw the doorknob turn a bit, here it goes, she gonna take one look at me and slam the door, he thought; the door then opened, Yugi turned crimson, “ Kas…sumi,” Yugi stuttered. Kasumi looked gorgeous to Yugi, she wore a rose red Chinese dress with a golden sakura print on it; she wore hi heels with straps, and had her hair nicely put up and wore red lipstick. “ Hey Yugi, wow you look great,” Kasumi said as a bit of red came to her face, “ yeah…you…look,” Yugi started to say, “ gorgeous,” Yugi finished. “ Thank you, what ya got there?” Kasumi asked as she pointed to the box in Yugi’s hand, “ oh, this is for you,” Yugi said as he handed it to her, “ oh Yugi, thank you, you didn’t have to,” Kasumi said as she opened the box. “ Wow, Yugi there lovely,” she said as she picked up the beautiful rose corsage, “ its nothing compared to you,” Yugi said; Kasumi blushed as Yugi took it and put it on her wrist. “ Ready to go?” Yugi asked, Kasumi nodded with a smile on her face, “ yep.”

Over at the Domino school, the place was filled with music and valentine decorations. Everyone looked in amazement, “ wow, this place looks great,” Kasumi said, “ its okay,” Kathy shrugged, “ I cant believe they actually did something right,” Joey added. “ Well, lets go in,” Melanie said; as they went into the auditorium, a lot of kids were already there, dancing to the beat of the music. “ All right!” Tea said happily, “ what should we do first?” “ Wanna dance Mel?” Bakura gestured, “ love to,” Melanie said as they walked into the crowd of dancers (Bakura and Melanie were the best dancing pair at the school). “ Lets dance too,” Claire said to Joey, “ works for me,” Joey replied. “ Why don’t we get somethin’ to eat, I’m starvin’?” Tristan said to Tea, “ yeah okay,” Tea replied as she and Tristan went over to the food table. “ So Kaiba, what do you wanna do?” Kathy asked, “ nothing really, I hate these things,” Kaiba growled, making Kathy’s smile disappeared, “ fine, I’ll go find someone else to dance with,” Kathy said as she tried to walk away. “ What! Hold on,” Kaiba exclaimed as he grabbed Kathy arm, “ I said I hated these things, that doesn’t mean I regret coming here with you, come on, I’ll show you that I can dance,” Kaiba added as he dragged Kathy onto the dance floor.
“ So Yugi, what ya wanna do?” Kasumi asked, Yugi smiled at her, “ whatever you want to do,” he replied. “ Well…” Kasumi said as she thought about it, “ I kinda do wanna dance, but if you don’t want to that’s okay.” Yugi grabbed her hands, “ if you wanna dance, then we’ll dance,” Kasumi looked at him, “ are you sure?” “ Yeah, come on, you do know how to dance don’t you?” Yugi asked, “ Kasumi gave him a smirky yet wicked looking smile, “ oh I can, I was just wonderin’ if you could.” “ You bet I can,” Yugi said, “ come on,” he said as he dragged on the dance floor. As the music went on, the others to the dance to the beat, of course no one could compete with Bakura and Melanie, but all and all they had a good time. “ This is too much fun!” Claire exclaimed with joy, “ I agree,” Kasumi added, “ what should we do next?”
“ Lets eat, I’m starvin’,” Joey said, “ Joey dear your always starving,” Claire laughed with a huge sweatdrop. “ Joey if you eat so much you’re gonna explode,” Kasumi giggled as Joey started eating his 9 slice of pizza, “don’t bother Kas, trying to talk to him about these things is like talkin’ to a brick wall,” Kathy explained, “ knock it off Kat,” Joey said through his bites. “ Joey if you eat so much than you’ll be too full to dance,” Claire explained, Joey swallowed his food, “ oh all right.” “ How can he eat that much?” Bakura muttered to Melanie, “ Bakura I’m smart but not that smart to goin’ on in that head,” Melanie giggled. “ I heard that,” Joey exclaimed, everyone started laughing out loud; then the DJ lowered the music and made an announcement. “ All right you guys, its almost time to vote for our best couple,” he exclaimed, making all the kids give out a loud scream of joy. “ Just to let you know, I’m gonna remind you of who are nominees are…first we have…” the DJ continued, “ this might take awhile,” Yugi moaned, “ yeah what’ the point in this contest,” Kasumi complained; Kathy gave out a small giggle, “ just wait, you might change your mind.” Yugi and Kasumi looked at each other.
“ And last but certainly not our least, Yugi Motou and Kasumi Ryuzaki,” DJ announced, many of the students gave an earth shattering yell. Yugi and Kasumi’s eyes widened in shock, Kasumi then looked at the others, “ all right who nominated us?” The others started to snicker, “ hey its not funny,” Kasumi complained. “ We’re sorry,” Kathy said through her snickering, “ but ya know, you guys looked so good together that we just had to nominate you guys.” “ All of you?” Yugi asked, “ yep, we all were apart of this scheme,” Joey explained. “ Why you…” Yugi and Kasumi growled. “ Okay you guys you only have a two more minutes until we find out who are best couple is,” DJ announced, “ I cant wait to see you guys win,” Tea giggled, “ oh come on, we’re not gonna win,” Yugi replied, “ yeah, who would vote for us?” Kasumi added. “ We did,” the others said in unison. “ Yeah but your out of a lot of other kids,” Kasumi explained, “ yeah there is no way we’re gonna win,” Yugi finished.

“ I can’t believe we won,” Kasumi giggled as she and Yugi were walking home, “ yeah, who would have thought,” Yugi said with a big smile on his face, making Kasumi blush a bit, “ especially since we’re not even dating,” Kasumi laughed. “ So you had a good time?” Yugi asked, “ yeah I did, and it was because I went with you, thanks for going with me,” Kasumi said as she and Yugi stood at the steps to the apartment building; Yugi blushed, “ no problem, I had a good time with you too.” They then just stood there for a little while until Kasumi spoke up, “ well, I guess I’ll see ya tomorrow,” “ yeah I guess, night Kasumi,” Yugi said. “ Yugi,” Kasumi said softly, “ yeah?” Yugi said as he looked at her; Kasumi then leaned toward him and gave him a soft kiss on the cheek, making his face go crimson, “ good night Yugi,” Kasumi said as she started to walk up the stairs with her face all red. “ Night,” he muttered.
Kasumi then walked up to her apartment with a big smile on her face. Have a good time? A voice said, Kasumi turned to see a dark figure standing right in front of her, “ yeah I did,” Kasumi said as she fell onto the couch, good, the figure muttered. The figure then looked to see Kasumi had fallen asleep, the figure then walked off toward the and window and looked at the moon, Yami…
