~Yu-Gi-Trip~

By ShadowWarriorJessica

I stretched out as I stood up off of my couch. I just finished watching my favorite anime on Saturday; Yu-Gi-Oh! . I walked towards the Television and hit stop on the VCR to stop taping it. I smiled out as I looked at the clock. Almost 11:30. As looked about the lonely blue living room, I noticed that it was raining out, with a hint of thunder clapping here and there. I sighed out, knowing that today wasn't going to be a fond day of going outside, so I figured, why not watch my Yu-Gi tape from the beginning? After all, I had nothing better to do than to draw, but, today just wasn't a grand day to draw. I hit the rewind button on the VCR, to let it go back to the beginning of the tape. While I waited, I heard my stomach churning. Realizing I haven't eaten all day, I walked into the kitchen, to check out if anything was edible in the fridge. Soon, I heard the phone ring and ran to it. I picked it up and said hello.

"Hello? Corrie dear?" it was my mother.

"Hey Mom. How are things at your friends house?"

My mom seemed to sigh over the phone. "Honey, me and your Dad are stuck here due to the storm. And since you're by yourself in the house, I want you to be very cautious seeing how this is a storm and all."

I sighed out. My mother has been a worry wart ever since I can remember. She is like that and it bothers me a lot. "Don't worry mother, I have everything under control. Ok?"

My mom talked all this gibberish about, make sure you turn off things that you aren't using, and turn off the computer. I assured her, then, all of a sudden, we got disconnected. That's strange though. I was very sure that the thunderstorm wouldn't hit until a few hours. I shook it off, seeing how that the phone lines at the company could have got shut down as I place the phone back to the receiver.

I grabbed my glass of water and my deck of Yu-Gi-Oh cards and sat back down on the couch, getting ready for my very own Yu-Gi-athon; with no commercials included. I put the glass of water by my side after taking a sip and hit the play button on my VCR remote, holding my deck in my other hand, to look through them while I watch it, to upgrade it.

As I looked at my cards in my hand, I noticed that I didn't hear anything from the television. I slowly looked up and saw static on the T.V. . This was becoming even more weirder. I know that I had a Yu-Gi-Oh episode around here, but it wasn't on. As I walked closer to the television, to see what was wrong, a picture of Pegasus appeared on the screen. I shuddered as it scared me half to death. Possibly thinking that it was episode two, I walked slowly back to the couch.

"Hello there, little girl." he talked.

I froze at that point. I could have been hallucinating from all the crazy things that have been going on, but I know for a fact that he wasn't supposed to say that. I turned around, and saw Pegasus on the television still.

"You seemed surprised, little Corrie Jo. I thought you were smarter than this." he laughed under his breath.

My eyes grew wide, clutching my deck in my hand. "Y-You know my name. . . .but how? You're just a T.V. show?!"

Pegasus just laughed at me, letting me know that he heard me. But how is this possible? I take a step back to the table and grab the remote to the T.V. I pointed it at the Television and hit the Power Button to turn it off. However, the T.V. was still on, with Pegasus laughing even harder. I began to panic. "This can't be happening. . ."

"Oh, but it is dear girl. I believe you know me; seeing how you watch me perform to make the game of Duel Monsters so exciting." he snickered.

"But you're just an anime! You can't be real!" I shouted out, clutching my deck in my hand.

"I must disagree with you on that Corrie girl. For you see, I am very real. Oh and by the way, the phone call that got disconnected; that was a bit of my magic by my powerful Millennium Eye, to disconnect all communication to your house."

I didn't understand any of this. How can this be real? I mean, he is just an anime, but yet, he did all this to me, plus he seems to think this is all one big game, just like in the show. I was angry at this point, and crazy me went along with it. "Why are you doing this to me? What is it that I have, since you only enjoy toying with people that have something of value."

Pegasus smirked an evil smile. "You are perceptive, little Corrie. However, it is true you have something of value, and I intend to have it."

I smiled out, coming to a conclusion. "I know, this is all a bad dream. I'll wake up soon, and forget this whole nightmare ever occurred." I was sure that was it. I mean, what other possible answer could their be?

"This is no dream, dear girl. This is very real. So real, in fact, I think that I'll have some fun with this."

My face was so angered at this point. He was so sure of himself. "Hello. Earth to Pegasus. You are nothing but an anime, whereas, I am in the real world. You can't do anything."

Pegasus seemed to laugh again at my statement. "You are such a broken record my dear. For you see, like I said, I am real. Should I explain it to you so you can understand? Or perhaps, I shouldn't, and make it more interesting watching you being so helpless and clueless."

He seemed to catch my attention after that statement. I took a step forward and sat down in front of the television, clutching my deck.

Pegasus seemed to notice what was in my hand. "A duel monsters deck eh? You are making this more better for me."

"Forget the deck Pegasus, and tell me, what do you mean that all this is real?"

He looked straight into my eyes, making me shake a bit, but stopped as he began to speak. "All right. I'll tell you. You see, little Corrie, you are only in one of many dimensions in this universe. The planet that we call Earth, has many dimensions surrounding it. You, dear girl, are merely in the middle of all these dimensions."

"So, what you are trying to say is that your world is just another dimension?" I asked him, feeling a bit cautious.

"Exactly."

I looked at him strangely. "So, what does all this have to do with me Pegasus? Why am I suddenly becoming one of your mere pieces on the chess board?"

Pegasus closed his eye, with a smirk rising on his face. "You seem different from everyone else in your dimension."

"Different? In what way?"

"You know that all people dream when they are sleeping, right?"

I nodded to him in agreement.

"Well, when you dream, you don't seem to know that your recurring dreams are related to the different dimensions surrounding this world. When you dream, you travel from one place to another, obtaining powers of almost every kind, am I correct?"

I gasped. How was he to know? I mean, No one can know about other peoples dreams unless they were told by the person themself that had the dream. I was just not expecting this. "Y-Yes, that is true. But it isn't in another dimension."

"That is where you are wrong. You have this continuing dream every night, even though you don't know it. Your powers increase after every visit to the dimensions, making you more stronger each time."

I was so confused. "But, I don't have those powers. Dreams are based on reality, just exaggerated upon the persons thoughts towards the day, people, and life itself. It doesn't come true once so ever. I don't have powers once so ever Pegasus. So please, just leave me be!" I hollered, hopefully to try and get him off of the television.

"I just love to see you like this dear girl. You think that you know everything about you. But I know about you more than you yourself knows. You do have powers dear girl. Powers beyond those of the Millennium items themselves. That is why I am here. To collect those powers to help me get what I want." He smiled evilly at me.

He was crazy! I have no intention of doing any of this. I know that this isn't no dream any longer, nor a figment of my imagination. I stood up, and walked away from the television. "You're crazy you low-life!! I would never help you in this matter at all! Although I still think that all this is stupid and crazy, but, even if this is real, I won't help you in taking Yu-Gi's Puzzle at all!" I hollered as I clutched the deck and ran in my room, locking the door.

I panted heavily, leaning against the door. I slowed down my breathing as best I could, only to hear the pitter-patter of the rain that was getting fiercer. "I bet that this storm is caused by Pegasus as well. He doesn't want my parents here at all." I whispered. I slowly walked to the window and drew the curtain and shades and looked outside. It was horrible out there! The wind was picking up and the rain was getting louder and fiercer by the minute. I began to worry. Suddenly I heard something turn on in my room. I turned around to see my T.V. on, to find Pegasus, laughing at my cowardice. I hollered out, screaming violently. I couldn't call for help, and my screaming was being blocked by the rain and the loud clap of thunder.

"I am not giving you a choice." he said as he pulled his silver hair away to show his Millennium Eye. "Now, come to the dimension, where Duel Monsters was created!" he hollered as the eye glowed a golden color.

I shielded myself from the bright light. I felt so weak and overpowered as I fell to unconsciousness, knowing that it was all over for me. . . . . . . . . . .

I groaned out as my body came too. I slowly opened my eyes, trying to get them to focus.

I suddenly began to hear voices. Voices that seemed oddly familiar. They were getting closer to me. I got up as best as I could, and ran into the bushes, still half-dead from the scene at my house. A bush? I seemed to recall that I was in my house, and it was stormy outside as well. So, what is a bush doing here. As my eyes came to focus, I seem to remember the surroundings as I looked around; stadiums, people and holographic projections of monsters. I realized that I was in the dimension of Yu-Gi-Oh. I was kind of happy that I was here, however, remembering what Pegasus said, I feel that I am in supreme trouble. The voices are coming closer. I hid deeper in the bushes, slowly remembering who the voices belonged to.

"All right! I'm takin' on the next dueler I see!" I heard.

As I looked at the person who talked, I couldn't believe it! It was Joey Wheeler! My fav character in the show! I kept my cool as I slid back in the bushes, trying not to be seen. As I seemed to be far enough, I ran away from the scene, with my head still pounding fiercely. Suddenly, I heard a voice from behind me, a British accent voice.

"Hey come back here!" he hollered.

Knowing that voice anywhere, it had to have been Bakura. I shook my head, seeing how it wanted to go back and meet them. However, I didn't want to take any chances so I ran off.

"Wait a minute, we just want to talk!" I know that had to have been YuGi Moto.

I still ran for what I was worth. Suddenly, I was thrown back to the ground by a force.

"Hey, why were you hiding in the bush?" A male voice hollered.

That had to be Tristan Taylor. He must have been the one that pushed me. I just laid there, not knowing that all my cards fell from my pocket.

As I opened my eyes, I saw Tea Garden and Bakura, picking them up for me, while YuGi and Tristan just looked at me, and kept on asking me questions.

I stood up and dusted myself off. I didn't want to be rude to these guys, seeing that I might pull a Seto Kaiba deal.

"Answer me! Who are you and why were you hiding in the bush?" Tristan hollered at me.

I looked at him and sighed. "My name is Corrie and I wasn't hiding, just being cautious, that's all." I announced as I looked around, seeing if any of Pegasus's goons were around.

YuGi seemed to notice my fear within my eyes. I knew that he didn't know what, which was a good thing. "Well, my name is--"

"YuGi, I know your name." I said. I looked at everyone else too. " I know who all of you are. You're Bakura, Tea, Tristan, and...." I paused looking for Joey. "Where's Joey?" I asked out.

They didn't seem to care about where he was right now. They knew that I could have known YuGi, but not the others, seeing how less famous they are compared to YuGi. "But how. . ." Tristan's question was cut short as we all heard footsteps coming faster in this direction. I began to panic. Was it Pegasus's henchmen coming to get me?

"Guys! What's with leaving me behind huh?" the voice asked.

Sighing out in relief, knowing that it was Joey, I felt a bit better.

"Sorry bud, but you were just too busy gazing at your 4 Star Chips." Tristan laughed out.

Joey just made a mad face at his friend, and turned to me. "Who is this duelist?"

Duelist? I'm not a Duelist on this island. I sighed out as Pegasus made a huge mistake of ever letting me come here.

Tea walked over to me, as did Bakura, and handed me my cards. "Here you go miss." Bakura said with a smile.

"Thank you Bakura." I said as I held out my hand to get my deck. When I saw my hand, I gasped. I had a Dueling Glove on my right hand, along with 2 Star Chips! Pegasus was going to pay for this. He wanted me to do the same thing that YuGi is doing; to collect enough Star Chips to win to enter his castle. I took my cards and placed them back in my pocket.

"Hello, would someone like to tell me what is goin' on here?!" Joey shouted.

YuGi laughed out. "Joey, this is Corrie. She was hiding in the bushes from someone. We were about to ask her why."

I looked at little YuGi. I didn't want to say why I was being cautious from at all. They wouldn't believe my story one bit. "Sorry, but if you'll excuse me, I must be going." I started to walk off.

"Hold it girlie! I challenge you to a duel!" Joey hollered from behind me.

I stopped in my tracks. I had to get out of this duel. "Sorry Joey, I'm not interested."

"Hey! How did you know my name?! Face me in a duel, or are you chicken that I might just beat you?!" he hollered louder.

I clenched my fist. I wasn't afraid to take him on, but rather, afraid of the consequences after this duel match. But now, I seemed to have no choice BUT to duel. "Fine Joey, I accept you challenge. However, I only wage one Star Chip on this duel!" I called to him.

Joey looked at me. "Why? Because you don't want to get kicked out of the tournament?"

I turned around and looked at him. "No Joey. I am doing it so that either way, you don't get kicked off the island and you can't save your sister, and I can't get kicked off the island, knowing that Pegasus won this game of toying with me. . . ." I sighed out.

Joey looked at me with his eyes wide. "How did you know about my sister?"

It seemed that everyone there was freaked out just as much as me. I sighed out. "I'll tell you everything, after our duel. But please, just wager one of your Star Chips?" I pleaded to the blonde.

Joey calmed down and looked at me, seeing the worry within my sapphire eyes. "Fine. I wager One Star Chip as well. Let's go find an arena."

The arena was huge; what I never imagined. I heard the holographic generators powering up as I stepped onto the playing field, rising me from the ground, to the dueling field. I suddenly remembered that, I am only a beginner duelist. I only played the game whenever I was at my cousin's house, winning them, but I felt that wasn't good enough. And I can't tell which field my monsters get a field power bonus from. However, remembering from the episodes, I know that Joey has a hard time with it as well, so we are basically even.

I placed my shuffled deck on the field, as did Joey. It looked to me on the field that I was to battle on a meadow part and Wilderness part; the same field that Rex and Joey were on, while they battled. I placed one of my Star Chips down on the field, seeing how Joey did it.

"Okay, you ready girlie?!" he called to me.

I growled. He should call people by their name. "Yeah I'm ready! I hope." I said as I drew 5 cards and saw the 2000 life points came up on the screen. I took a deep breath and looked at my hand of 5.

Joey smirked. "I'll start things off in this duel." he announced as he placed a card down. "I'll go with Masaki, the legendary swordsman in attack mode!" he called out as the hologram of the swordsman appeared.

Masaki had an attack power of 1100, that much I knew, however with the field power bonus, it was now 1300. I looked at my hand and saw some good cards. Uraby, Terra the Terrible, Hitotsu-Me Giant, and 2 magic cards. I just hope I knew what I was doing as I placed a monster card down. " I'll play Uraby in attack mode!" I hollered out as the dinosaur came to the field. "Attack!" I hollered.

The Uraby's attack hit Masaki, disintegrating him to nothing, taking Joey's life points down to 1850.

Joey looked a bit tense as he drew another card from his deck. I don't know what he had, but it seemed big trouble for me. "You were jus' lucky on that turn girl! How about this on for size?! The Flame Swordsman in attack mode!" he hollered as he placed him down. I looked at the screen, seeing that his monster does 1800. Then with the field power bonus, his attack soon was 2000!

I began to worry as I had nothing in my hand to help me, and my Uraby went down to a cinder, making my life points go down to 1500.

I heard the cheers of his friends, cheering him on. I smiled, knowing that he had some great friends. I drew another card from the deck as I saw another monster appear from it; the Rouge Doll. Then the card that I drew a turn ago was the Petit Angel. I pulled a monster card from my hand and placed it on the field. "I'll play the Petit Angel in defense mode, and I'll place one card face down on the field." I called as I placed a card on the magic field as the Angel sprung up in the arena.

Joey looked real confident as he pointed at my Angel. "You think that puny thing can withstand my Flame Swordsman? If ya didn't notice, my Flame Swordsman does 2000 while your Angel's defense is only 900! Flame Swordsman, attack!"

As the Swordsman charged at my Petit Angel, turning it into Angel Dust.

I sighed out as I pulled another card from the deck. Yet another useless card. I can't stand putting all my monsters in defense, but I had to. "I'll place the Hitotsu-Me Giant in defense."

Joey laughed out as he drew another card from his deck. He smirked out. "I'll use the power of Salamandra, to boost up my Swordsman to 2700! Go for it!"

I began to panic. I can't stand these weak cards that I have anymore. That was my 3rd monster he creamed. I stayed calm though and pulled out another card to help me. I smirked as I played the game. "Okay Joey, I'll play my Rouge Doll in Defense mode and I’ll place another card face down."

Joey laughed louder. "I can't believe that you actually went to this competition!" He drew another card from his deck. "Okay Then, I'm going to bring out my next card, Tiger Axe!" Soon, the Tiger's roar was heard as it gained the field power bonus from the meadow field, increasing it to 1690. "I'll also place a card down on the field. Now, Attack!"

The Tiger's power soon destroyed my Rouge Doll. For that, I didn't mind, seeing that I have a plan. I drew a card from my deck, which turned out to be another weak card. "I'll play this card, the Trial of Hell!" I shouted as my monster appeared on the field in defense mode. "And while I'm at it I'll just active the trap card I placed on the field called Trap Zone! It will eliminate the Tiger Axe you called up from the deck and into the graveyard."

Joey watched as the monster soon disappeared from the field. "Oh no! What am I ever going to do now?" he laughed out. "I still have my Swordsman."

"I am also activating a magic card I placed on the field. A little something I like to call de-spell! It gets rid of your Salamandra once and for all, and brings your attack back down to 2000!"

Joey began to sweat a bit. I knew I was starting a comeback, but I hoped that it would last for the rest of the duel. "Your move Wheeler!"

He drew a card from his deck and smirked. "I call upon Axe Raider! The field power bonus gives him a boost to 1900. Now, Slice that Trial of Hell to pieces!"

Soon, my Trial of Hell was no more. I knew that I had to stay strong. I puled another card from my deck and I soon sighed out. It was a strong card; the Gyakutenno Megami. However, it wasn't strong enough. I just have to wait and get the item I need to boost her power up in my deck. I had to yet, play another monster in defense. "Go Terra the Terrible in defense mode!"

Joey drew a card from his deck and soon destroyed my monster. I drew my next card. It was a Trap card. "Alright. I'll place D. Human down, in attack mode, and I'll place a card face down on the field." I placed my cards in the right spots and looked at Joey.

Joey thought about my plan for a minute. Soon, he drew another card. "I'm gonna active my Trap Card for my Axe Raider; Akuni with Chain. It brings your monsters attack down and my Axe Raiders up to 2400! Now eliminate it Axe Raider!"

I sighed. I couldn't play my combo which could have brought my monsters attack to 2000, and took a huge chunk out of my life points and took me down to 400. It was all hopeless. I knew I couldn't have won. I thought about another way to bring this out as I drew the next card. A Magic card that can help me in my coming back. "Ill play the Gyakutenno Megami in attack mode, plus I am activating a magic card Ookazi which automatically deducts you life points by 800 and brings it down to 1050." Now I knew that all this had to come down to pure luck.

Joey smirked. "You are pathetic. Flame Swordsman, attack Megami now!"

The Flame Swordsman began to charge at my Megami. "Not so fast, I activated a Trap, Reinforcements! It brings up Megami's attack from 1800 to 2300 this turn. Megami attack him now!"

Megami destroyed Flame Swordsman making his life points go down to 750. I cheered out loudly, knowing that I was going to have a comeback After all. Joey seemed pretty worried at this point. I heard his friends cheering him on. They were great friends to him as I began to draw a card. I smirked out as I knew that this was a grand play. "Place Megami in defensive mode and I place the Rude Kaiser in attack mode which the bonus brings it up to 2000. And I am activating a magic called Invigoration that brings it up higher to 2400! Your move."

Joey smirked. "You think that wimpy Kaiser can defeat me when I play my Red Eyes Black Dragon!" He called upon it and its mighty roar echoed through the place as it tarnished my Kaiser, bring my life points to 200.

I freaked. I had only one card now that can change all this around. I stayed calm and trusted my deck. It couldn't let me down. I never lost a duel by using this 'heart of the cards' trick. I hoped and hoped and I drew the card that would insure my fate. I closed my eyes and hoped for the best and I put the card to my eyes view. I slowly opened them and smirked. "Joey, I am sorry that I had to beat you badly like this, but I have no choice you see."

"You lie! That one card can insure your victory?! I don't think so. You're all talk!"

"Oh but it is true. I call upon the Blue Eyes White Dragon in attack mode!"

Everyone gasped. I know that They would have. There were only 4 Blue Eyes in this world, however, in my dimension, there were plenty to go around. "Now Blue Eyes, White Lightning attack!"

My dragon demolished the Axe Raider, which reduced his life points to zero. Joey began to sweat badly after this move. "I-I don't believe it. There are only supposed to be 4 in the world.. ." he was shocked. However, I knew YuGi was more shocked than anyone.

I looked at Joey when we got off the field. He held out his hand containing the Star Chip in his hand. I looked at his face. It was like he lost all hope in dueling.

My conscience seem to tap into my head. Sure, I too had to gain 10 chips to enter the castle to get home, but Joey needed these chips to save his sister. I knew what I had to do. "Joey, keep the Star Chip. I don't want it. Now, thanks for the duel Joey, but I must be off. . . ...." I slowly walked away from the team

"Wait, Corrie?" I heard.

I looked behind me and saw Joey looking back at me. "Can you stay with us? I mean, it is nice to have the company of a real woman."

Tea heard this remark and whaped Joey on the head. "I heard that Joseph."

I laughed a bit. "I don't want to cause any trouble to you all."

YuGi looked at me with a concerned look towards me. "Trouble? Why would you be troublesome to us?"

I sighed out and smiled at the others. They seem to not care of my presents even when They thought I was spying on them. "That's not important. I'll stay with you guys. However, I will only stay for tonight."

Nightfall arrived in this dimension. I joined the Yu-Gi team, however, I told them that I would leave them tomorrow morning, traveling on my own, obtaining my own Star Chips, and defeating Pegasus. They begged me to stay, and, even though my brain agreed with them, I knew that I had to go. It was the only way of getting me back home. I'm a lone wolf so to speak. Always have been, and always will.

The campfire was feeling good tonight, heating up every inch of my body, since it was kind of chilly out on the island. I looked around the area. There was YuGi, just smiling as can be trying not to laugh at Joey's statement. Tristan just sighed out about Joey showing off, while Bakura just laughed it off. Tea was in the shower that was near out campsite, and here I was, sitting on a log, enjoying the fire.

Joey yawned out a bit, indicating that he was low on energy due to all of his squabbling. He scratched his head. "Man, I am beat. I say we hit the sack as soon as Tea comes back." he announced as he stretched out his arms."

"I agree Joey. That way, we won't be tired tomorrow during our duels." YuGi added to Joey's comment.

I soon drifted out of reality and thought a bit. I was wondering; wondering if my mom and dad found out that I was missing. Wondering if the storm that Pegasus created ceased its attack in my world. I was also wondering, how am I going to return to my world. I mean, I could just storm right into Pegasus' castle, but I am not as magical as he is however. Wait a minute. . .Pegasus did say that I had powers beyond that of the Millennium Items. Could it be true? I mean, he wouldn't waste his time on me if it wasn't, right? Then again, those were dreams after all. Maybe, I myself have a Millennium Item that I didn't know about. All this just seems to puzzle me as I think about the possibilities more and deeper. Soon, I was cut short of thought when I heard someone call my name.

"Corrie, you okay?" Bakura asked me.

I went out of my train of thought and looked at Bakura cluelessly. I am sure that he must have called to me earlier, because everyone seemed to stare at me with worry upon their faces. I blinked and sighed out. "Yeah. Just fine." I lied. I didn't want them to know about my problem. Not yet anyway, for they'll soon find out when the time comes to when me and Pegasus will duel it out; if I get to the castle.

YuGi didn't seem to accept my answer as he looked at me, with sadness. I looked at the little guy. "YuGi, what's wrong?"

"I sense that you're hurt inside. And from your expression, I see that nothing is okay. Why won't you tell us what's wrong? We can help you if you would just tell us what's wrong."

My mind was feeling weird. No one ever seemed to care for me like that before. No one would offer to help me. Never. This is the first time I ever heard anyone say that to me in my life. I just wanted to cry Then and there. However, my mind still told me not to tell them. I don't know what to do now. "YuGi. Can I tell you when I am ready to tell you?"

YuGi looked at me and nodded slowly. "Sure Corrie."

"Thanks YuGi."

Joey interrupted the conversation. He walked in between me and YuGi. "Never mind her Yug. She is just too stubborn for her own good."

I stood up and looked at him. "I'm not stubborn!" I hollered at him.

Joey laughed. "Oh yeah, like I'm gonna believe that story. It is always like that. They say things that They aren't and They try to make it up with the same statement; 'I'm not this' or 'I'm not that'! Pathetic if ya ask me." he said as he shrugged his shoulders up. "I have no idea why They would say that if They need help anyway. It is just so weird."

I was a bit frustrated. I walked off. "I'm going to sit by the lake. If you want me, you'll find me there." I announced as I walked off to calm down by the ocean. . . . . .

I sat down by the cliff's edge and gazed at the shimmering lake, with the moon and stars, twinkling within the sky and reflecting off of the ocean. I sighed and closed my eyes, enjoying the sound of the crickets, making their lovely song of the night with their violin legs and wings. As I opened them again, I noticed that the campfire that YuGi and others created went out, indicating that They are going to sleep. By just thinking about that, I was getting a bit sleepy as I yawned out and rubbed my eyes.

I soon shot awake at the sound of footsteps; footsteps that were getting closer to me with each step. My mind raced a bit, but waited until the person would come and get me.

As I saw the shadow of his body beside me, I grabbed his arm and was about to throw him off the cliff. "Pegasus, leave me be!!"

"Hey Corrie! Chill out! It's me Joey!" the figure hollered.

My mind froze as I looked at the person with the moon's light. Soon, I did see Joey's face. I took a few deep breaths and soon came back to reality. "Why are you here? Come to tease me again?"

Joey shook his head at me and sat down beside me, looking up at the moon and stars in the midnight sky. "I came to apologize about me being a jerk. I'm sorry."

I looked at him. Joey never usually thought with his head, only on the battlefield. "That isn't like you Joseph. But I accept your apology." I smiled at him as I too looked at the sky.

The silence seemed to feel like hours, listening to the sound of nature. Joey looked at me, breaking the silence. "Why are you paranoid?"

I looked at him, stunned. "Paranoid?"

Joey nodded in response. "When you grabbed me, you hollered out Pegasus's name, all freakin' out. What did he do to you? And don't say nothin' because it sure wasn't nothin' when you were goin' to throw me off the cliff."

He got me right on the spot. Would I tell him the truth? What, the truth that I come from another dimension and having more magic than YuGi and Pegasus and Bakura put together? My mind was racing as my eyes didn't seem to focus. I looked back at the ocean. "Why should I tell you? I mean I hardly know you."

"Hardly know me?? You seem to know a lot about us and why we are here for. You knew my name and the others' names before they said them. And you seem to know Pegasus all too clearly. Tell me the truth Corrie, or at least, why are you here on the island, if you seem to fear Pegasus. Tell me that at least."

I looked back at him. I noticed that his eyes seem so. .full of worry. Why would he care about me? I am just someone they found, supposedly spying on them when we met, face to face. I clenched my fist. "You wouldn't believe it if I tell you."

"Hey, out of all the craziness that I've been through, I can believe anything."

I smiled at him, and looked at the reflection of the moon in the ocean. "I am on this island, not to duel, but rather, get back home."

"Hey, all you have to do is loose your Star Chips and you'll be off this island in no--"

I interrupted his sentence. "No. Not that home. I mean, in another dimension."

Joey looked at me confused. "Ok, you're right, I am not believing it; at least not yet."

I was upset and angry. Not at Joey though. Just thinking about that scene with Pegasus taking, no, kidnaping me from my home and world, just for his own greedy self. I stood up off of the ground, and wiped off my pants. "That is all I can tell you Joey. I don't really want to say anything anymore. I am just wondering what my family is doing right now. They must be worried about me; calling the police, crying and not sleeping at all, until I come home, safe and sound." I whispered out. Joey seemed to hear this and stood up and looked at me.

"Hey Corrie. Don't fret. I'm sure whatever it is you're after here, you'll get. Your parents may be worried, but just wait until They see ya, with a big smile on their face, knowin' that you're alive and okay."

I looked at Joey with a smile. "I guess so. However, what if I do win? What about your sister's eyesight, and YuGi's Grandpa? Will They be alright after all this?" I was real confused on what to do as I looked back at the campsite. "Maybe, I should just loose on purpose, and so that you two can help your loved ones. They are far more important than me."

Joey looked angered by this statement. He walked up to me and pulled me up by my arm. "Are you crazy?! You need to get back to your own world. You have to, and I am not gonna let you talk about yourself like that. Together, we will all gain 10 Star Chips, and together, we will enter that castle, and together, we will rescue YuGi's Gramps, my sister, and your ticket home."

I pulled away from him and held where he held me as I looked at him. I never felt so confused in my life. Why was he saying these things to me? It was a mystery to me. "Joey, thanks for the pep talk, but I'm not so sure. Maybe," I looked at the ocean as it began to sparkle. "Maybe I'm just too confused Joey. I am not even sure if I CAN get back home."

Joey placed a hand on my shoulder. "Well, don't get all sappy on me Cor. Anyway, let's get back to the campsite. We need our strength to kick some Duelists butt!"

I laughed and looked at him. "Yeah. Maybe a good night's rest is all that I need."

I walked up the hill as the sun began to rise above the horizon. I held my brown hair back as the wind began to pick up as I looked back at the campsite below. I felt bad about leaving them like this, but I had to fight this battle on my own. I can't have anyone interfere with my business. I looked ahead of my path and began my long walk to find some worthy opponents to gain the 8 Star Chips I needed to gain access Pegasus' Castle.

I followed a dirt path that led out of the woods and to a meadow field. I gasped as I saw all the dueling arenas around. There were also so many duelists still among the island. I now wanted to forget about all my troubles and watched in awe. I placed my bag down that I got from Tristan and slowly opened it up. I sat upon the hill and pulled out a can of fruit. I opened it and began to eat as I watched the duels going on. I saw A Rude Kaizer facing off some Harpy Lady sisters in the distance. I seemed to recall the Harpy Lady Sisters in the show. Mai Valentine used the Harpy Lady Sisters all the time.

I saw the final blow was struck as the Harpy Sisters defeated the Kaizer with a swift blow, ending the duel. I finished up my breakfast and dug deeper in the bag. I pulled out a tin can which held all my cards within it. I had about 200 cards stored in this tin. I opened it up and pulled out my deck that was sealed with a ruber band upon it. I placed the new deck I created in my pocket and placed the tin in the bag. I stood up off the ground and began my way down to the stadiums. "Let's see who I will duel today." I said out loud as I began to look around.

"So, another female duelist. Females are a rare find in this game." a voice came from behind me.

I knew who it was without even looking behind me. It was indeed the voice of Mai. I turned around and faced her. I never seemed to like her at all. I don't know why, I just did as I stared at her. "So what?"

Mai just looked at me. "You wanna duel kiddo? All I need is 2 more Star Chips to win. And it seems you have just enough for me." she gazed down at my Dueling Gauntlet.

My eyes narrowed at her. I wanted to just duel her to regret she ever said that to me. However, I knew it was risky to play against her.

"SO, you gonna duel hotshot? Or are you going to lose to someone else?"

I clenched my fists. My anger swelled up in me. "I'll duel you Mai! Just to see your face when I beat you!"

Mai looked confused at how I knew her name. "I must be famous already. Well, let's duel!"
