A Family of Chinese Physicians
Winnie comes from a family of Chinese medical doctors of three generations. There are over 20 of her family members who were educated, graduated, and/or teaching at Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). They all practice in China, America, and Canada. Both of her parents also graduated from Guangzhou University of TCM in the 1960’s and practice Chinese Medicine more than 35 years. Winnie's father, Ying Ji Ho, L. Ac., O.M.D. (China) has served as an Licensed Acupuncturist in Hawaii for many years. Her grandfather, Dr. Zhulin Ho, was one of the five members of the school founding committee and a senior professor there. Dr. Ho is a well-known practitioner specializing in Orthopedics and Traumatology of Traditional Chinese Medicine since the 1930's. The grandpa on her mother's side, Dr. Weiwen Du is also a well-known Chinese physician and specializing in Pediatrics and internal medicine of traditional Chinese medicine.
Following in the footsteps of both her grandfathers and parents, Winnie has studied Chinese medicine since her teens. She received her formal education, a five-year Traditional Chinese Medicine program, and graduated from Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Guangzhou, China in 1985. She also received her advance Acupuncture training in Guangzhou, China in 1986. She serves as a Chinese physician in the following years and specializes in Musculoskeletal Disorders (such as muscle pain and weakness, neck & back pain, sciatica), Stroke, Rehabilitation, Chronic & Degenerative Conditions, and Herbal Medicine. Winnie is currently a Doctor of Acupuncturist (D.Ac.) and licensed to practice in both state of Hawaii and Texas. She has served as a board director for the Hawaii Acupuncture Association (HAA) from 1998 to 2000. She is also a member of American Traditional Chinese Medical Traumatology Association (ATCMTA) since 1999.

Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) was founded in 1956. It is one of the four oldest universities of its kind in China and is directly governed by the State Administration of TCM. The university is located in northern Guangzhou, China. It covers an area of about 98.85 acres, with a building area of about 71.66 acres which including the affiliated hospitals.
