Dear friends, I can't believe that one year has passed since my last update. The year 2002 has proven to be one of the most exciting in my life which has seen me gone through a lot of changes. Allow me to share my experience with you. I traveled quite a lot throughout the year. First, I was in Singapore for 5 months. Granted the ASEAN scholarship, I was doing A-level in one of the top Junior Colleges there. Then I accepted another scholarship offer, this time by the PSD of Malaysian government, to study overseas. I hardly believe that I'm going to US next year!!! It is a dream come true! I have always wanted to further my studies there because I'm attracted by their liberal arts education system which gives more freedom to students. Oops... I got carried away. Sorry. :) I can tell you that traveling is no fun, especially when one has to spend 10 hours in a bus! Haha! And I really think that I have packing-phobia now, after having packed N timeS in this year. There's at one point of the year, I think, probably June, when I had a confusion of my whereabouts. When I woke up in the morning then, I had to take a minute or two to realize where I was - a result of relocation from Singapore - Penang - Selangor. Now I can understand Lee-Hom's feeling. :) Studying abroad and boarding experience have made me more mature. I feel that I have grown up. I learned to be independent, to do everything myself, without having to rely on my parents. I became pretty familiar with traveling by public transport like MRT and bus (which I never did back home because my parents are always there to fetch me); for the first time I went to the bank on my own to open a new account and buy international bank draft; I also went to the airport and took a flight back home all by myself. Besides, I've established my network of friends to Singapore, China, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Indonesia etc. It's really great! Life has been so busy that I am frequently in a state of Lee-HomLESS. Haha! A term created by my friend Jamie. It's difficult to obtain Chinese newspaper or magazine at my place in Selangor, I didn't have time to check out Lee-Hom's news on the internet too. Thanks goodness I can still play his songs on the radio/cassette/CD player! :) Now that I've completed most of the exhausting part of work - standardized tests, major exams and university applications, I am really relieved. You can't imagine how it is like unless you have experienced it - filling in hundred of pages of forms and writing so many admission essays! That was tedious. I have two weeks off before the next semester starts. It is the one and only actual holidays I have in 2002. Pathetic, huh?! At last I can get some rest and have some time for myself to do some reading, watch TV, attend get-together with old friends... you know. I really enjoy the fun of hanging around doing nothing. Haha~! It is such a luxury! :) For the past one year I have been in a dilemma of whether I should close down my website. Eventually I have made the decision: NO, I'm NOT. Lee-Hom's Planet means so much to me; it contains my effort, passion and of course precious time. I would not let go of it. True enough that I cannot update it often, but it'll still be opened 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Yeah~! This time round the webmaster diary is more like to share with you all my experience, thought and growth within this year. Just feel like writing something so I wrote this. Ha. I haven't made any update actually, except for fixing some errors in links etc. Arrgghh... I hate links. It's the most troublesome part of website making... I have to change page by page... That's tedious. And also, my folder containing all the material of my website is getting bigger and bigger... Oops, got carried away again. Ok, I've also got hooked on the Lee-Hom Look-A-Like section so I've added some more. Haha... Just for the fun of it. :) Do not expect really up-to-date news at my site, I emphasize. I would love to but unfortunately do not have the ability to do it. I'm sure you resourceful fans can fulfill your -'hunger' for Lee-Hom's latest news elsewhere - the official fans sites, other sites etc. Check them out at the Links section. :) What else?? Can't think of any... So I'll just stop here. I'll inform you all of my future move when I get my results of application next April. Thanks for your support. Adios! Love, Yan Min |
