Kathy Yao's Wonderland

A Little About Myself...

I was born and raised in Taipei, Taiwan, the Republic of China.

Currently I am working for a major enterprise software company in the United Kingdom. I relocated to the UK in May 2000 after spending 10 months in the company's Bay Area headquarter in sunny California. It has been a great experience working with Europeans and travelling throughout Europe. Prior to joining the company, I graduated from the MIT Sloan School of Management with a focus in Information Technology & Business Transformation. And before those two years of blood and tears, I worked at Hewlett-Packard Taiwan for about 4 years.

In the past 20 years, I have been relocating from country to country, getting accustomed to different cultures and lifestyles. Despite the moving around, I have held on to one single principle--to live close to the water. That is why I chose to spend my undergraduate years in the Bay Area, graduate years in Cambridge by the beautiful Charles River, and now in the suburb of London close to River Thames. During these "unsettling" years, I have gotten to know many dear friends from all over the world, and have together made lots of sweet memories. However, at the same time, I had to learn to endure the sorrow of parting with family and friends. It is definitely not easy!

This website originated as part of an IT class assignment at MIT Sloan. As I had been pleasantly surprised by a number of friends who rediscovered me through the site, I have determined to continuously update it and to share my recent happenings with all those who care. There is a lot more I can do to enrich the site, but given my untalented writing and web design skills (not to mention laziness and procrastination), don't hold your breath for too long!
