The Shaman and the Corn Festival.

Here we see the shaman presenting offerings for a celebration known as the corn festival, where the shaman will receive the title of Most Powerful Shaman. In order to have the celebration he must sacrific a deer and offer its blood to the gods, and also to the sun, since failing to do so may make the sun angry and could envelope the shaman in his "tay" A humming bird appears and pleads with the sun to give another opportunity. The sun replies that the shaman had promised to sacrifice a deer and present the sacred gifts from the caliguey (small sacred house) The shaman promises to honor the promise and everone helps to show force of conviction so that all may go well, but then a snake crosses the path of the shaman and he is unabe to make contact with the deceased ancestors and has to offer tejuino (corn liquor), ground peyote, tortilla and corn in order to talk with them and ask their advice. The ancestors warn him to beware of the snake who eats all the shamans that tempt the sun, and tells him to take some arrows (called Uruk) and to tempt the sun when the moon appears and the ancestors, using their magic powers, will make the snake sleep so thet the shaman may become the best of the shamanes.

Vemos el chaman entregando las ofrendas para hacer una fiesta llamada la fiesta del elote, donde el chaman recibirá un cargo como el chaman más poderoso. Para poder hacer una fiesta tendrá que sacrificar un venado para ofrecerles la sangre a los dioses, así como el sol, porque en caso de no realizar la fiesta, puede anojarse y envolver con su "tay" al chaman. Es por eso que un colibrí se atraviesa y le suplica al sol que le da otra oportunidad y contesta el sol que ya había prometido sacrificar un venado y entregar las cosas sagradas del caliguey. Entonces el chaman promete cumplir lo prometido y todos cooperan para dar más fuerza y voluntad para que todo saldrá bien, pero una culebra se atrévese y el chaman no puede concentrarse para pedir consejos de los ancestros fallecidos y tiene que ofrecerles tejuino, peyote molido, tortilla y elote para hablar con ellos. Los ancestros le dice que tenga mucho cuidado porque una culebra se come a todos los chamanes que están a punto de tentar al sol, y le dice que lleva unas flechas que se llaman Uruk y el chaman deberá tentar el sol cuando la luna sale y los ancestros con brujería van a a hacer dormir la culebra para que el chaman puede ser el mejor de los curanderos.
