A Huichol is depicted on a pilgrimage to King's Island where there is a sacred cave. He first has to make a canoe and then cross the sea to reach the cave where he leaves the gourdes containing sacred "gods eyes" which belong to a sick child. After leaving offerings the shaman must pray to the gods so that the childs health may be restored and that he is permitted to travel a good road and observe huichol customs without hindrance from anyone. The shaman carries a sack with a drum, and his feathers, so that he may pray and expel al evil from the cave. All others must do the same when they leave their gourds and "god eyes." After visiting the cave, everyone makes a wish for good luck, and they have to go for a month without eating salt or anything containing fat; for if this is not observed, the shaman may die. Much care must be taken to walk only on ground blessed by the shamans. The shamans leave many illnesses on the offerings and bury them, and they are able to close the door on those who who would dare to steal the offerings.

Aquí vemos la historia del diluvio cuando un peregrino sale a dejar ofrendas a la isla del rey donde hay una cueva, pero antes de llegar tiene que pasar el mar y para pasar tiene que hacer una canoa y así podrá llegar a la cueva y dejar las jícaras que tiene los sagrados ojos de dios, que son los ojos del niño. Ya entregadas las cosas, el chaman tiene que rezar para que los dioses les devuelvan salud y permiten ir por un buen camino sin que nadie los aleje de sus costumbres. Es por eso que el chaman lleva un costal para poner un tambor y sus plumas para hacer un rezo y alejar todo tipo de mal que se oculte dentro de la cueva. Todos hacen lo mismo cuando van a dejar sus ojos de dios y sus jícaras. Ya visitada la cueva, todos piden un deseo para tener suerte, pero tienen que ayunar un mes sin comer sal, ni nada mantecosa. Si no cumple, el mal de la obscuridad te enfermarás y el chaman puede morir. Así es que hay que tener cuidado de pisar tierra sagrada de los chamanes porque ellos con sus poderes cierran la puerta para aquel que puede robar sus ofrendas porque el chaman deja muchas enfermedades en las ofrendas. Es por eso que lo ocultan en la tierra.
