Maggie Heatherwick (The Guardian) |
Maggie in her true form and age. Current (Though she appears an old woman to the companions) |
A young Maggie, as Apprentice.. |
Maggie lives in a small neatly kept cottage, which is hidden deep within Wyldewood. Her companions are, Halloran, an apprentice healer, whom is now at level of journeyman and a potential Guardian; and Milton, a rude, loud mouthed parrot. Appearance: The Projection of herself to outsiders and those uninitiated: Nut Brown with long white hair, wizened but straight shouldered. She usually wears her hair tucked into a rough bun, it is never tidy, always escaping its confines every which way. She dresses in rather patched trousers of which an unbleached linen shirt is tucked into, covered by a leather jerkin with lots of inside pockets. Her clothes are always tinged with a bit of green from her work with herbs and such. She has bright blue eyes that twinkle a lot and a wide smile that creases her face into a myriad of wrinkles. She has long, clever hands. Clean but also stained with the dirt of her herbs. Her fingernails kept neat and short. She often wears a cloak which is of fine weave and carefully mended. |

Skills: She is a guardian, one of the legendary protectors of Wyldewood and has command over the spirits and trees within nature. She has a perception to see through illusion as she is a master of them. Not much escapes her notice though it would appear it does. Many have been caught by surprise when they thought her not watching. She is a sensitive and able to communicate with animals and mindtalk. Understand what they need and helps if they are hurt or frightened. She is able to heal by magic though only the physical body. As a guardian she is attuned to the forest and it obeys her commands within reason, she holds a great respect for nature. They aid her in her stealth and tracking. She does have these skills naturally though due to the suspicion of her heritage, a strain of faerie blood though how much is uncertain. She is able to control the elements of nature, the spirits of air, water, earth and fire, though only if absolutely necessary as meddling with such forces can create consequences and change patterns of nature. She is in constant communion with the Book of One, its mind speaking through her and passing instructions to the quest. She now holds the book, given to her by Nighthawk K’Sheyna, the one who stole it from the wizards’ order whom had it and were trying to destroy it. Hence she is the guide for the quest. She hates anyone who harms or hurts her forest or creatures for senseless reasons. She is guardian and protector of Wyldewood and all within. She is rather intimidating when she is very angry. Weakness: Her powerbase is Wyldewood, so even outside of those confines, as powerful as she is, she is unable to call upon her full power unless close to Wyldewood. She appears to all outward appearances however, as a hedgewitch, a rather crazy old healer that talks to the spirits and air. Weapons: No weapons of obvious nature aside from a small gardening dagger, an athame she uses to collect herbs and plants (that has never tasted blood nor will) and a skinning knife. She wears a pentagram looped on a thong around her neck with a small amethyst crystal set in its centre. She does carry a staff of ironwood however, which is nearly impossible to break and also a very effective club against attackers or errant children. (She considers any one, adults or kids as children) Usually she relies on her ability to meld into the forest but in the case of an attack, she will summon the spirits of whatever landscape is at hand, and the animals to ask their assistance. |
