Behold the Province |

There is an unmistakable rugged beauty to our province. I suppose the first landmark you would distinguish would be our majestic mountain range running north and south. Going east you find yourself rising leisurely up and down gentle slopes. Lush woods alternate with fields to clothe the hills and valleys. Soon you come to the Height of Land. A poignant area of upland pastures dotted with juniper, wild flowers and boulders, broken by clumps of balsam fir, spruce and apple. The carpeted slope climbs higher once again, a carpet of mayflowers and wild strawberries beneath your feet, and you are met with a salty wind from the other side as you reach the top. Your feet crunching the gray reindeer moss, as you look out. You see a rugged expanse of land that melts into the foamy white breaks of rolling waves. this watery seam, dotted with islands, hem the fabled rocky coast of Kantara. Scores of peninsulas, large and small, reach out into the ocean. This is the part of Kantara that I call home. A small village, located on a high vista overlooking sapphire blue waters. |
