Versaille






hALL OF MIRRORS
I came to see the Hall of Mirrors, but looked upward until my neck became rubbery.  The ceilings of Versaille are a sight to behold.  Each room is themed.  The Hall of Mirrors had mythical Gods and Goddesses helping the Sun King in his war campaigns.  Also shown, of course, were the conquered warriors, or parts of them.



Image the impoverished working-class French camping out at the castle gates, hungry, forlorn, astonished at the site of  world class opulence.  Louis XIV had his own battleship with working cannons in his own lake.

Check out the Ceilings!  This lady did a great job!


ceilings The Sun King sat in the balcony, adorned by Godly art, and those lucky enough to be kept at the palace listened to the heavenly music as they adored God and the Sun King!  Oh, to hear the organ play.

What ceilings!

Astonishing as it was, the crowds and heat were unbearable.  We did the tour in three hours and hike to the McDonalds, where we purchased three Grant Plus Coke Lights.  MonDieu!  Teddy had to help me out.  I don't want the Grand, I want Grand Plus.  "You got that Dad?"

That night we dined at a courtyard restaurant near our hotel in sublime peace.  We bought foot powder at the pharmacy.
