"Proverb &
Wise Words"
A
barking dog never bites. A bird
is know by its note, and a man by his talk. A
cripple is an easy first among lame people. A
crooked stick will have a crooked shadow. Adverse
makes wise,though no rich. A
fool's bolt is soon shot. A
friend in need is a friend indeed. After
rain comes sunshine. After
the work is done, the rest is sweet. A good
neighbour is worth more than a far friend. All is
not gold that glitters. A lie
has no legs. All
grasp, all lose. All the
wealth of the word could not buy you a friend, nor pay you for the loss of
one. All the
world a stage, and all the men and women merely players. A
little leak will sink a great ship. A man
is known by the companion he keeps. An
honest man is as good as his word. Any
house is better than no haouse. A
promise is a promise. As you
measure so it will be measured unto you. A word
to the wise is enough. Better
the last smiler, than the first laughter. Better
to slip with the foot than with the tongue. Better
to wear out than rust out. Business
before pleasure. Don't
put me in the same boat with him. Every
light has its shadow. Experience
is the best teacher. Good
Counsel is never out of date. Good
words cost nothing but are worth mush. He
moved heaven and earth to get it. Faith
will remove mountains. Do by
others as you wish to be done by. Last
