I was an active student when I was in secondary school. I was a member of the National Cadet Corp, a peer leader and the Chairman of the school choir. In 1996, I was involved in the Singapore Youth Festival (SYF) where we performed at the National Stadium. In 1998, I led the school choir in a performance at the Istana Park.
In ITE Bishan, I was a Student Councillor and an Interactor. Being an Interactor, I volunteer myself to do community service. I was involved in activities like fun-raising and visiting homes.

It was not easy being a councillor, sometimes I had to stay back late in school to help up in decorations for important functions like National Day and Chinese New Year Concert.
Sometimes we also had meetings which starts at 4.30 pm and we even had to come back to school on Saturdays if there is a need. Well besides all the work, we also organised activities like having a BBQ at East Coast Park and a chalet.
