In cooperation with Sukisha Koryu, we train mainly in the following Ko-ryu or ¡®ancient school¡¯ styles, once used by the samurai and the infamous ninjas:

Koto-ryu Koppojutsu

Gyokko-ryu Koshijutsu

Takagi Yoshin-ryu Jutaijutsu

Shinden Fudo-ryu Jutaijutsu

Shinden Fudo-ryu Dakentaijutsu

Kuki Shinden-ryu Happo Bikenjutsu

The key element in Ko-ryu Taijutsu is to be able to effectively defend yourself in any kind of life-threatening situation.

Training is done through application rather than form work. Members are trained to react and to respond effectively and dynamically to evade, escape or if necessary to disable the assailant.

This is a no-nonsense art that works, based on its time-tested philosophies and principles. Simply put, the unarmed combat Ko-ryu Taijutsu can be divided into 3 parts:

Taihenjutsu¡ªthe art of escape, evasion and break falls

Dakentaijutsu¡ªStriking with the hands and feet

Jutaijutsu¡ªGrappling and ground fighting skills

Depending on your level and which school you are studying, strikes are targeted at nerves, muscle and bone areas. Therefore, even a smaller-sized person can learn to take down a larger adversary with little effort.
