Kalbar Autofest 9

Kalbar, once again, was an awesome event.  Despite however, being given notice of defects on the way in (no battery clamp & ride height not 100mm) & Brett's alcohol being confiscated, we all had a great time.

The raising of the tents before the sun went down prevented us from watching the Friday afternoon events, but Friday night was one spent hanging around the campsite chillin' & drinking (fortunately not everyone had their alcohol confiscated).

As per Kalbar normalities, we were woken up around 7:30, 8:00 by the sound of V8's starting up and driving around.  This is what one may call heaven.  Saturday morning also awarded the first "dickhead driver" award with a Ford (what else) Ute booting it on the grass, losing control & hitting a Falcon (Thank gosh no Holden were hurt in this incident... oh, & no people either!).

Saturday saw qualifying for all events, including the grass events, go-to-whoa & Burnouts.  As well as an awesome lunchtime display by Gary Myers, The Ethanol Wheelstander, The Bandag Bullet & the Kaos FMX riders.  Unfortunately, during the FMX's guy's show, the Heavens opened up and came down upon us all.  So it was back to the tent for the afternoon.

Saturday night' was a rather hurried affair, in the hope that all events would be seen due to the very threatening weather overhead.  Fortunately all events went though uninterrupted and were enjoyed by all. 

Then, it was back to the tent for more drinking and to the stage for what was an awesome live band playing excellent rock!

Sunday saw the sun come out again and time to pack the tents away for another year.  Due to Brett working that afternoon (& the extreme heat!) we headed home about 10:30 before the finals were run.
