Shinji Ikari
Shinji is Misato's friend, one of two roommates(three if you count PenPen) and really her family along with Asuka and PenPen. Misato offered to take Shinji into her home early in the series. They have gotten along for the most part.
PenPen
PenPen is the coolest damn animal I have ever seen. He likes instant ramen =P , he drinks beer, and he bathes constantly. PenPen is Misato's pet warm water penguin, and really kind of the comic releif of EVA. Misato adopted PenPen in hopes of having someone to call a family and to have someone waiting for her when she came home from a long day of work.
Asuka Langley Sohryu
Asuka is Misato's second roommate. Misato took Asuka into her home in hopes of making her and Shinji learn to work together for a mission. Ever since then Asuka has stayed at Misato's apartment.
