Easter baskets
Leave shadows on
The carpeted floor
When light comes
Sneaking in from the kitchen
Past curfew.
Green plastic grass
Catches the glint of 60 watts
And makes a filmy,
Glowing jumble.
These vessels of rebirth
Are dark at night
And cast darker shadows
Outside them.
