THE PASTRICAL NATURE OF HONESTY

Honesty is as a croissant.
The journey begins at a single point.
One finds the life-sustaining foodstuff
That is at the heart of truth,
And tastes also that buttery coating.
Once these have been sampled
Their scope is broadened.
This truth must be applied
To all things, to all times,
And their candid dough grows, expands,
Widens, and is coated with yet more butter,
Becoming ever flakier and more delicious. But it can not continue this way.
The pastry-eater remembers his old ways.
He lusts after the previous ease,
And he begins to consume less truth flour.
The bread tapers off,
The butter becomes more sparse,
And the croissant has vanished,
Leaving naught but an empty, deceitful plate.
