Rabin's Israeli Suicide - April 1994
A series of news stories during the third week of April caught my attention.  The Jerusalem Post reported on April 20, that the PLO is demanding legal jurisdiction over Jews who continue to live in areas taken over by them, so that "Palestinian law" would apply to them.  Yediot Aharonot reported on April 19 that five Israelis were wounded the previous day in a terrorist axe attack on a bus north of Jerusalem.  The Jerusalem Post reported on April 19, that according to Opposition Leader Binyamin Netanyahu, terrorism has increaded fourfold since the singing of the Declaration of Principles last September.  Prime Minister Rabin responded that terrorism is a natural outcome of the agreement with the PLO.  Yediot Aharonot reported on April 19 that PLO chairman Yasser Arafat awarded a "Brave Palestinian Boy" award to a 12-year-old who was filmed stoning an Israeli soldier in March.

Am I naive to assume that the "Palestinian Law" that is demanded by the PLO in its new territory will be the same law as that applied by them in Israeli controlled territory?  Perhaps I am.  Perhaps "Palestinian Law" in its own new territory will be more brutal against its Jewish refugees.

Even Yitzhak Rabin agrees that this will be the case.  "Terrorism is a natural outcome of the (peace) agreement with the PLO."  If that is the case, where is the peace that Rabin is agreeing to?

It is to be found in "Palestinian Law".  Palestinian Law provides that those who collaborate with Israelis will be executed.  Thus, it is only natural to expect that Israelis living under Palestinian control will also be executed.  Rabin is releasing Palestinian terrorists from Israeli jails, and allowing them to return from exile, en masse, to take up leadership roles in the new Palestinian administration.  It is specifically this administration, and specifically these terrorists-cum-statesmen, who will be responsible for the well-being of Jews and Israelis that they have been trying to kill for the last 50 years or longer.

"Palestinian Law" is exemplified by "brave Palestinian boys" who throw stones at Israelis, and by bomb and axe attacks on Israeli commuters.  It is represented by a declaration of principles of peace between Israel and the PLO.  One of these principles, apparently with the knowledge and acquiescence of Yitzhak Rabin, is that anti-Jewish terrorism will increase by a factor of at least four.  Now, the PLO demands that this law be applied to Jews living in Judea and Samaria.

There is now a definitive answer to the question of how long it will take Rabin to realize that he is negotiating peace with murderers and terrorists who have no interest in peace.  Rabin has already realized this, and he doesn't care!

There is no longer any reason to believe that Rabin has the interests of his citizens, or of the Jewish people, at heart.  He has said as much by acknowledging that a process which he is reponsible for has led to the increase in Jewish death, injury, and suffering.  This "is a natural outcome of the agreement with the PLO" that Rabin is responsible for creating and upholding.

The new question is how long it will take for Rabin to realize that peace does not mean death.  Peace does not mean injury.  Peace does not mean bombings, axe attacks, stabbings, or stonings.  Peace does not mean confronting your killer and offering to load his weapon for him.  This is not peace, it is suicide.

Peace should mean a decrease in these atrocities.  Until that happens, peace is not at hand.  But Rabin does not seem to have the capacity to understand this.  Rabin believes that peace means concessions to one's enemy.  Rabin is prepared to pursue this avenue, seemingly, to the extent of giving Israel to Israel's enemies.

Throughout Israel's history, Israeli leaders have led the world in championing the cause of peace.  Israeli leaders have never backed down in the face of terrorism, violence, and murder.  Israel has always maintained that "terrorism does not pay."  Even Yitzhak Rabin, as Prime Minister of Israel in the mid-1970's, led the world in confronting terrorist murderers at every opportunity.

Now, however, we see the true Rabin.  We see the Rabin who is not Prime Minister of Israel.  Rather, we have a Rabin who aspires to be the Foreign Minister of Palestine.  We now see a Rabin who acknowledges that terrorism, in fact, does pay.  Rabin still recognizes that the PLO, and all other Palestinian organizations, have only the policy of destroying Israel on their minds.  He recognizes them as the terrorists, murderers and anarchists that they are.

Yet, Rabin is prepared to give these would-be conquerors of Israel everything they ask for.  Rabin bends over backwards to appease these war-mongers and keep them negotiating for Israel's life.  At the same time, Rabin acknowledges that what he is doing by keeping the negotiations going is costing Israeli lives.

"Terrorism is a natural outcome of the agreement with the PLO."  Rabin has agreed to make peace.  As a result, he allows his enemies to make war upon his people, while not opposing them in the field, or at the negotiating table, or in world forums.

Rabin must resign.  He has lost the confidence of the Israeli people -- if not of the Knesset, which he rules through totalitarianism.  He has cost Israeli lives through his appeasement of Israel's sworn enemies. He has negotiated Israel's future while not achieving any gains for Israel, and has led Israel in bad faith and with no public mandate.  Rabin has publicly acquiesced in the murder and injury of Israelis, and has branded as "terrorists" not the groups responsible for increasing the flow of Israeli blood but organizations whose only crime is their zeal for their own home.  He has allowed his Palestinian friends to break the agreement with Israel, in letter and spirit, on  numerous occasions, and has excused them for it.

Rabin is a hypocrite, and a public supporter of terrorism and murder against Israelis.  Under Israeli law, he is subject to between three and five years in prison for support and recognition of a terrorist organization.

As long as Rabin is in power in Israel, Israelis will continue to die at the hands of his allies in the PLO and their cohorts.  Rabin promised Israel peace.  Rabin has brought Israel suicide.
