After being told at the age of 10 that "you have no musical talent and will probably not be able to play a musical instrument successfully," Tony -- the drummer, keyboardist, and soundman -- taught himself harmonica and began to dabble with keyboards. At 20, he bought his first synthesizer, and by 22 he was playing keyboards in his first band as "Anthony Storm." He continued to play in various bands for several years, and after taking a break early in 2001, he began to realize how much he missed being involved with music and started purchasing miscellaneous instruments. After learning the drums faster than any other musical instrument, and playing a set of electronic drums for about six months, he decided to get into another band and this time try his hand behind the drums in The Kingpins -- his first experience as a live drummer. He feels very comfortable behind the kit and says, "This is where I'd like to be for a long time to come." |
