Sphere Grid

The sphere grid is the system that you will use to upgrade your characters. Each character has their own area to start off in, and after completing it, or before they do, they can branch off into others areas to aquire new abilities. To aquire new abilities and upgrades you must have the correct sphere to active the node. The grid is a relatively simple system, but it can be a little hard to understand.

The Grid

The Sphere Grid is simply a grid of nodes that require a specific sphere to activate. A node is any location on the grid where your character can stop. The majority of the nodes are are filled, but some are empty and can be filled by using a sphere. Nodes are classified into a few categories. Ability, strength, speed, HP, MP, magic, and defense. Some categories may be activated by the same type of activation sphere, like Strength and HP nodes can both be activated by a power sphere.

Sphere Level

Your sphere level will determine how far you can move around the sphere grid. Each time you move to a new node, your level will decrese by one point. You can raise your sphere level by fighting monsters and gaining ability points. In order to use your sphere levels effectively, make sure you actiavete all nodes along your path the first time around. Doing so will avoid have to backtrack and waste precious sphere levels.

Empty Nodes

You may turn empty nodes into stat nodes by using a purple sphere. You can then use an activation sphere to actiavte the node and gain the upgrade. The purple spheres are somewhat rare and quite usefull.

Spheres

Red Spheres: These are the spheres that you can use to activate nodes. Power Spheres activate HP, Strength, and Defense nodes. Mana Spheres activate MP, Magic, and Magic Defense nodes. Speed Spheres activate Agility, Evasion, and Accuracy nodes. Ability Spheres activate any ability or skill node. Fortune Spheres actiavte Luck nodes and are the hardest to find.

Yellow Spheres: These spheres allow one character to activate a ability node that has already been activated by another character.

Black Spheres: These spheres will allow you to open the locks that block your path on the sphere grid. These are probably the most important spheres other then the red ones.

Purple Sphere: These spheres will allow you to turn an empty node into an activatable node. Using these to activate a node will almost certainly give the maximum bonus.

Blue Sphere: These spheres will allow you to move your character to another location on the sphere grid. Friend Spheres will allow you to move to an ally's location. A Teleport Sphere allows you to move to another previously activated node.
