| Get Cactuar GF--First before you try to get Cactuar you should be around level 60 and have the Levithian GF. You have to go to Cactuar Island, which is in the southeast corner of the Esthar continent. You can distinguish it because of the big green Catuar that keeps appearing and disappearing on the island, this is the Jumbo Cactuar that you have to battle. You should equip the Revive and Recover Abilities on two different people because the Jumbo Cactuar uses the 10,000 needles ability, which can wipe out a character in a single shot. The third person should be able to cast Life or Full Life spells. Also the Jumbo Cactuar is weak against water so use Levithian. The Battle is all about patience because you have to keep reviving your characters and attacking at the same time plus the Jumbo Cactuar has 60,000 HP. Have one character act as a medic while the other two attack. After attacking the Jumbo Cactuar for a while a little sign will appear saying that the Jumbo Cactuar is hesitating. Stop all your attacks at this point because he may runaway. Just use Levithian and your strongest attacks to finish him off before you! Stop. After you beat him you got the Cactuar GF. This is one of the best GFs in the game. When it's at level 100 he can do 10,000 points of damage and you will never have to boost, ever! |
| Finding Energy Crystals-- Energy crystals are extremely useful items, they are needed for many weapon upgrades and can also be refined into Ultima spells using Forbid Mag-RF. There is a simple way to get as many energy crystals as you need. After Lunatic Pandora attacks go to esthar again, walk down the inner skyway and you will see an esthar soldier wearing a dark uniform. After talking to this soldier you will have to fight an elnoyle if you beat this elnoyle you will be rewarded with 2-4 energy crystals. To fight the elnoyle again simply run off the screen and then back again and the soldier will be back. Note - quickly defeat elnoyles by hitting them with junctioned 100 deaths to status attack Hidden Draw Points-- An easy way to get rare spells is by drawing them from hidden draw points on "the island closest to hell" and "the island closest to hevean" (see world map in picture gallery for locations). Note - On these islands are some of the hardest monsters in the game unless you are very strong avoid attacks by having the Enc-None ability junctioned. Gaining AP quickly-- A quick way to gain AP is to go to cactuar island and continually fight the cactuars. In each battle you fight you will get 20AP for every cactuar you mannage to hit. The downside is only your GF's will really benefit as your characters levels will not be raised by much. Note - Cactuars have high evade so make sure your party has high Hit values. Avoiding The Loss Of Rare Cards-- Due to the random rule winnig card games can become rather difficult as the computer will often choose a weak set of cards. A ceryain way to get a good hand is to simply refine all your regular cards only retaining cards above level 8. |
