Rag & Flag 2000 (Medicine)

Rag & Flag is an annual event that forms an integral part of a freshman's orientation programme when he enters NUS (National University of Singapore. The purpose is to help raise funds by selling flags (the flag aspect) for charities, followed by rag, whereby students thank the public's generous efforts by building floats and incorporating plays or dance items with the float.

2000 AD marks the last year in which the faculty of Medicine will participate in the float building event of this annual fanfare and which I'm sure many medical students, especially year 2000 freshmen, would remember with special fondness.

Although Medicine faculty did not win the float competition, but I never felt let down in anyway  because I know I've built strong friendship with my fellow freshmen. This is especially significant for me because before rag & flag, being an ORD personnel, I know of very few peers as freshmen in the faculty. Now, I know I've found a bunch who would brave the challengs, share the spoils of the long 5 year course and subsequent lifelong career with me. =)
