: Evaluating a website is very essential. If it has a wrong purpose or it¡¯s not objective, it should be revised soon. When making a website, anyone can make errors. Though there¡¯re some errors, it¡¯s necessary to correct them by evaluating the website. There are about 5 criteria evaluating a website. Among them, the most important element is a purpose of a website. However good the website is, visitors can get nothing unless it has a right purpose. Though the authority is very famous or it has very up to date resources, it¡¯s not a well organized website if it doesn¡¯t have a clear purpose.

:In my opinion, ¡°tobacco control archives¡± is more reliable than ¡°Essays on the Anti-Smoking Movement¡±. Let¡¯s compare two websites with 5 criteria.
1. Authority. ¡°tobacco control archives¡± is made by University of California, San Francisco. So we can see how made this site and author's credentials. And it has ¡°contact us¡± menu on the top. Certainly, it¡¯s sponsored by the university. So the authority is very clear here. On the other hand, ¡°Essays on the Anti-Smoking Movement¡± has an author¡¯s name, but there¡¯re nothing else about authority except it.
2. Purpose. ¡°tobacco control archives¡± has a clear purpose at the beginning of this website like ¡°To collect, preserve, and provide access to papers, unpublished documents, and electronic resources relevant to tobacco control issues.¡± On the other hand, the latter one has several contents, but it¡¯s hard to see the purpose at glance.
3. Currency the former one said the last update is on on 9 April 2004. it¡¯s quite recent. On the other hand, the latter one was made in 1994,1995. But there¡¯s no mention about when it was updated. In my opinion, it¡¯s not updated since then.
4. Objectivity vs bias We can see the former one is very objective because it¡¯s proved by specific references like ¡°Legacy Tobacco Documents Library¡±
5. support the former has definite links or citations to sources. I t makes the resources reliable. On the other hand, there¡¯s no clues where it get these information.

c. What is the purpose of this site? Is it completely objective? Be sure to give reasons for your answer.

It¡¯s not biased at all, rather it¡¯s quite objective.

:the purpose of this site is to warn humanity about proximity of the earth of the planet Hercolobus. Though it has a table of contents of this book and book excerpt, that¡¯s not enough to let visitors. Actually, there¡¯s ¡°more about Hercolobus¡± menu, but we can¡¯t get ideas there because it¡¯s written in Spanish. If it¡¯s in English, it would be much better,I guess

One is http://www.quickmba.com/strategy/swot/ and the other is http://erc.msh.org/quality/ittools/itswot.cfm Both of them are about swot analysis. But for me, the former is more dependable . It has proper table and the contents are well organized, so those who have no ideas about swot can easily understand what it is. On the other hand, the latter one doesn¡¯t have enough information, so I just got brief ideas which are not so helpful for me. Also, a design of a website is very important, I think because however good the content is, it doesn¡¯t attract people. In that point, the former one use proper design, but the latter one is not. It looks quite monotonous and boring

Part 3 What do you think are important considerations in planning the design of a web site? How did you apply these in planning the design of your site?
: in my opinion, the most important element is the purpose of a website. For example, if the theme of a website is traveling, then it should have lots of photos explaining famous places. And if the theme of a website is color, then it would be better to have many visible graphics to attract people. In my case, the theme of my website is the comparison of marketing strategies between starbucks and coffeebean, I¡¯d better compare two using tables. It make people to recognize them effectively
