Spirit Brothers |
Have you ever seen Old Man Rock, The one with Crows in his hair, keeping watch over forests and streams? Have you ever seen the Woman of the Mountains, her face turned toward the sky, lying forever among old memories? Have you ever seen a Buffalo Cloud or one that looks like a Pig chasing after a Sheep? These are our Spirit Brothers, the ones who never die, telling us the way to live now when all the world is upside down with fear. In our dark night of lonliness, Old Man Rock gives courage to our shattered dreams. In the blinding light of uncertainty, the Buffalo Cloud offers encouragement. In the black dawn of emptiness the Woman of the Mountains drains our cup of fear. Next time you see Old Man Rock, remember: He once lived the same life you live now. When he died, his Spirit Brother gave direction to the Winds Next time you see a Buffalo in the Sky, remember: He once lived as all creatures live now. When he died, his Spirit Brother gave brilliance to the stars. We are all Spirit Brothers. The Woman. The Man. The Buffalo. The Tree. The River. Each is part of another. Each is part of the same. |
