What do Wiccans Believe?
I have to start this page by adding this little disclaimer, for every pagan/wiccan you meet, you will encounter a different belief structure. I just want everyone to know that my personal and the beliefs that I recite from any written materials, are in NO way meant to shape someone elses beliefs. This is the beauty of Wicca, you can make your own structure of ideas and they are still right!....
For me, as stated in my What is Wicca page, Wicca is a personal connection with diety and the earth as a living, breathing being.
I belive that when I sit to do my rituals, and or spells, I can feel the Goddess and God there right along with me, entering my body like some good old friend.
When I am outside and I see or smell somthing more beautiful than normal, I think that must be them working.
There are many diffent belive systems in Paganism in General. Wicca is just one of them. Yes, we do magick, Yes, we honor things on faith and Yes, we are tree huggers...lol, but we also have the obligation to be good people, good neighbors and usually good friends.
We belive in moon magick, and candle, magick, Sabbats, some of us, (like myself) even belive in Faries, or Faeries as I will refer to them from now on.
There are only basic beliefs but you are under no obligtation to follow them. The beauty of being in tune with such a personal belief system is that you can change it and make it fit you and your daily life.
This is a religion, that I personally, feel you have to be very dedicated to. Now I don't mean this as doing a spell every day or a daily devotional but you must be commited to your spirituality.
Just as christians urge eachother to "abide by the Bible, and live a Christian life" I urge other Wiccans/Pagans to Abide by the Wiccan Rede and live a Wiccan life.
