My friends and I made this game up when we were drunk in college. Soon we realized we made up a pretty cool game, but it was too confusing to play drunk. When it was made up, the game was called "Super Killer Uno." Over the years, more rules have been added to the craziness. Over time, it became known as "Super DUPER Killer Uno!"
Scroll all the way down for some
new rules!
The Basic Rules of Super Duper Killer Uno!
Most of the rules of Super Duper Killer Uno are just additions or exaggerations to the original rules.
Players- You must play at least with three people, but it is most fun with at least five. Anymore than five is awesome, but you should play with two decks.
Points- There are no points. The first person to get rid of his/her cards is the winner, the game ends, and a new game begins.
Draw Cards- If someone puts a draw card down (a Draw Two or Draw Four Wild), the next person can put another draw card down on top of it and the person after that will have to draw the sum of both cards. Unless he/she has a draw card to put down, then it continues.
Example: Joe puts down a Blue Draw Two, Mary puts down a Green Draw Two, ha ha, George has to draw four cards! No wait! He puts down a Draw Four Wild! He announces that the color is Red. Amy has a Green Draw Two, but she can't put it down because the color is Red. D'OH!!! She has to draw a total of eight cards!!!
Skips and Reverses- Skips and Reverses work like they do normally with a couple exceptions. One exception we won't worry about for now. See advanced game rules below. If someone puts a draw card down, the next person can use a SKIP to make the next person draw the amount or use a REVERSE so the person who put the draw card down in the first place would have to draw.
Example: Mary uses a yellow DRAW TWO, George uses a yellow REVERSE. Now Mary has to draw two! But she doesn't! Psyche! She uses a yellow SKIP! Now George still has to draw two!
Remember that SKIPS and REVERSES have to be the same color as their previous cards!
Okay, this is where it gets crazy!
Zeros-
Zeros have two functions in different situations.
1. Its most important function
is it cancels a draw! If someone puts down a DRAW TWO and you have to draw
it, you can play a ZERO (of the same color of course) and you don't have
to draw any cards! Also if you are in the middle of drawing card and find
a zero, of the same color as the card facing up in the pile, you can play
it immediately and not have to draw anymore cards.
2. If a ZERO is played without
the intention of canceling a draw, the person who played the ZERO gets to
trade his/her whole hand with a player of his/her choice. Everyone has to
be honest as to how many cards they have at this point. So, it's probably
a good idea not to save a ZERO in your hand for too long.
If a player's
last card is a ZERO, he can play it but he won't win; he has to switch with
the person with the least amount of cards. Now there should be someone without
any cards. He is not declared the winner yet. When it becomes his turn, he
has to pick from the center pile until there is a card he can play.
Steals- This is the best part of the game. If someone plays a number card, anyone can play an identical card (same color and number), thus stealing the next player's turn. The game continues with the guy following the one that stole the card in the current direction of the game.
Example: The game is going clockwise in this order, Joe, Mary, George, Amy. Joe puts down a RED THREE, Mary puts down a GREEN THREE, Joe steals George's turn by quickly slapping down another GREEN THREE. It is now Mary's turn.
Doubles- If someone has two card exactly the same- same color and number- he can use both of them in one turn. This rule only relates to number cards.
Got Uno?- You must say Uno, if you have one card left. If someone says Uno before you do, you have to draw four cards. Please wait until the next person plays a card in order to do this.
Can't use any cards?- If you have nothing in your hand that you can use, you have to keep on drawing a card from the center pile until you get one you can use. Once somebody starts picking, no one can steal.
The Advanced Rules!!!
Don't try this until you're a pro at the other stuff!
Skipping Skips and Reversing Reverses- Okay, I hope to God I can explain this. Bare with me here. If someone plays a SKIP, the person who is being skipped can play a SKIP of the same color to cancel the SKIP. Now the next person is skipped. I don't even know what I just said. If someone plays a REVERSE, the person who can't take his turn because of the REVERSE can play a REVERSE of the same color to cancel the REVERSE. The game continues to go in the same direction.
Pointless But Fun Rules!
The 69- If someone plays a 6 and the next person plays a 9, then everybody take one card from their hand and passes it to the left.
Hoaky! (or Goat Ass)-
If someone plays a number card and the player who is
next in the direction of the game plays the same exact card (same color and
number), everyone shouts "Hoaky!" or "Goat Ass!" Why? Because you can.
Also, if a numbered card is followed
by another card and that is followed by a card indenticle to the first card,
that is known as a Goat Ass Sandwich.
Multiple Goat Asses- The first person to get three Goat Asses, makes everyone but himself pick four cards from the deck into their hands!
Lucky Sevens- If a player has three sevens in his hand, he can play them all at once as long as the card previously played was either a seven or the color of one of the three sevens put down. The color of the last seven played is the new color of play. Submitted by Brad Rose of Chicago, IL and Scott Rose of Los Angeles, CA
The "My turn?" rule-
If a player asks if it is his or her turn, that player must
draw two cards. This includes any translation of "My turn?" such as "Who me?",
"It's my turn, right? " and "huh?" Submitted by Crystal,
Kristy, Erin, and Laura in Nashville, TN.
