If you have any complaints, suggestions, concerns or just want to say hello, please feel free to email me. Oh... and compliments are always welcome!

Personal

My name is Chuck Massey.

Yea... that's me... the quite nerd from the class of '83.

I'm the one that had the red Honda Accord who was in the "field" every time it rained playing in the mud. Man... did I make those guys in the 4X4 trucks mad when they saw a little honda car blow by them when they were stuck in the mud!

Well... Believe it or not, I actually got married. I waited till 1994 to do it, but I did it.

We have one son that was born in late 1994. He is now in the 6th grade and is doing very good in school. Making straight A's with a "B" now and again, something I guess that he gets from his Momma.

My wife was a pre-school teacher for many years and went back to college to get her degree on teaching. Midway through her schooling, she decided that she wanted to pursue a different career. She now works at one of the universities in the HR department.

As for me I have been working at the Star-Telegram since 1988 in the pressroom and hate it.

After all of these years I have realized that I am not as smart as I thought I was. I returned to school in 2001 and graduated in May 2003. I went to Tarrant County College, took the required courses then I received my Mechanic certification with Airframe & Powerplant ratings from the FAA. Hopefully my pilots certification will come soon. If you have an airplane, and need it worked on let me know!

Well... Don't really know what else to tell ya, so if you have any questions feel free to email me with them.

Why did I make the Alumni Page?

I got to looking around at Classmates.com and found that you have to be a paying member to really do anything there.

I have found a couple of other alumni pages, but they also wanted you to pay, or they were really hard to navigate and not many people were signed up on them.

I don't know about you but I am a tight-wad and refuse to pay for such information, so I decided it was time to make an alumni page of my own.

I have tried to keep the page simple in content, low on graphics and other slow loading things, as well as being easy to navigate.

At first I was going to limit the page to the decade of the 1980's, but I had so many from other classes requesting to be added that I decided to open the page up to all classes from Richland High.

When I first got the page going, I emailed the webmaster at the BISD webpage asking for a link. I was told that he had over 400 people (at that time) listed on his page. "No one will want to sign up for more than one alumni page" was the reply that I recieved from him. Oh... and he refused to give me a link...

Well... without trying very hard I have almost caught up to him. At this writing (2-8-04) I have over 370 Rebels signed up on this page. Most of the people have come here from word of mouth. As far as I know this page is not listed with any search engines.

My thanks to you...

I want to say thanks to all of the Rebels who have signed up on the page. Without you this page wouldn't have been a success.
If I have been able to pair up just one set of school buddies again because of this site, all of the work that I have put into this page has been well worth it! I know that I have been reunited with several of my old classmates, and it is so cool to hear from them again.

Why did I discontinue the submissions the Alumni Page?

After emailing over 50% of the Rebels that signed up to be listed on the alumni page so that I could confirm email addresses, I discovered that most of them were old email addresses that were not working any longer.

While I tried to keep this site interesting by adding different features, it seemed that I had just a few regulars.

This page took up quite a bit of my time and my family that was getting cranky because I was working on this page so much, so I decided that my family comes first.

At the time that I made that decision, I asked if anyone would like to take over the page and recieved absolutly no offers. I decided to let the domain name go because of lack of interest from all involved.

At this time, I will be updating the "In Memory of..." page only. My plans are to keep the class listing online as they are right now, without any updates. At least you can see who has signed up in the past.

Thanks again...
