Thomas Carter Lookout

DAY 17

6,Jan,2003

Thomas Carter Lookout

At 311 metres above sea level, spectacular view of the Exmouth Peninsula's landscape.

It was the last day of my nearly 3 weeks long trip, we wasted no time with visiting the Thomas Carter Lookout, before getting on the bus back to Perth at 2:30pm. This lookout situate high up at the eastern side of the Cape Range National Park, confronting the western shore of the great Exmouth Gulf. Although we visited the park such a marine world the day before, this side of the park was a totally different world; dry, blooded-red dusty, flies, needle-spiky plants, and horrible hot wave. Without no water keeping up along the whole way i would have passed out. But still, it was good to see the scenery i had never seen before.

The map of the Exmouth Peninsular. The tip of it is where our camp site situate. The area in green is the scope of The Cape Range National Park. It would be no way to get there on our feet.

A series of bay make up of a beautiful coastline. It would never be able to image this picture when you were down in the water.

For the first time in my life, overlooking the range and such a natural mother land was one in a million.

Chris's 4WD. He is doing what i plan to do in the future; be bravehearted to visit Australia with this truck on his own!

I was thinking how many million years to form the range.

Beautiful. Just beautiful.

"Hi mum~!"

Good pose, good pose~

The sky, the great ocean, the range, all in one parallel layout beautifully.

It would be good to drink a can of beer and listen to your favourite music right there.

That looks steep~

Looking at this scene made me think of Frodo and Sam would be walking through down there.......come on, i mean this scene is just exciting natural!

Range after range.

King of the Range! i was being so aware from my feet slipping.

I wonder how can people get down there?

This kind of photo is what people use to threaten their mothers! LOOK WHAT I AM DOING MUM!

Actually i was really frightened by the height!

At the nearly top of the mountain, there was once a oil drill placed by some greedy people. But that project went to no avail.

No bigger trees can grow here.

It was great to travel with Chris.

The scene would hardly bring your mind back to the city's life.

The leaf-like side is rotten by wind.

It was where we could walk up to by the steps.
