yeyj: You are there?

jingyang_nfls: Well, are you there now? I did not curse you, but I swear I said at least 100 times that I hate your school's computer system.

jingyang_nfls: Hello. I am here now. Get online. It always shows that you are online awaiting me, what are you doing at this moment? Can you read the messages I sent you?

jingyang_nfls: Sure.

jingyang_nfls: Remember that I told you I'll always be online at this time?

yeyj: Then thank you very much

yeyj: At present I am writing to Yin Jie and Wang Yu

jingyang_nfls: It's all right. But i do hate your school's computer.

yeyj: So do I

jingyang_nfls: At this moment I am reading an article online.

yeyj: So nice

yeyj: These days I am still staying in the computer room all day long, not knowing what I am aiming to do

jingyang_nfls: Shen hongyin wrote me an email saying that her history exam is over and it was horrible.

jingyang_nfls: That's bad for your eyes. Just kidding.

jingyang_nfls: But don't you have other plans or something?

yeyj: Exactly. That's what Yu and Jie were complaining about

jingyang_nfls: Well, my world history exam is the easist of all.

yeyj: Certainly I do, but holiday is too good for chatting, right? Then I would languish to return to my hostel

jingyang_nfls: oral presentation, I did discrimination against Jews in WWII

yeyj: I even don't have one

jingyang_nfls: I've always hated history, but our teacher is all right. He's boring, but super nice, always teasing me about getting a perfect score on tests.

yeyj: I pick up Chinese Literature here, more tiresome than history

jingyang_nfls: I love literature, but no poems.

yeyj: Well, I now find it difficult to calm down, every time you haven't responsed for some time, I couldn't stop checking whether the server is down or not

jingyang_nfls: What do you learn in Chinese literature?

yeyj: Oh, we are learning¨¬?¨º???¡ä¨º¨¦??¡ãD??¦Ì??????¡ê? all kinda this staff

jingyang_nfls: Oh, that. You are lucky, I don't get a chance to read Chinese novels at all.

yeyj: Sone people pick up history and English Literature as well, but no PRC feel like them

yeyj: No, I am referring to the ancient novels, written by people who died hundreds of years ago.

jingyang_nfls: Do you learn English LIterature?

yeyj: We choose only one among the three. Unlucky?

jingyang_nfls: Ancient Euopean people?

yeyj: Chinese Literature, madam. The one of China.

jingyang_nfls: I don't know, I'll probably pick the English one if I were you.

jingyang_nfls: what do you mean?

jingyang_nfls: "the one of China"????

jingyang_nfls: Depends on how ancient the literatures are, I hate ancient greek literature or the bible, in that sense.

yeyj: Really? Great you are. You should understand that I've come here for just less than one year. Let me recite so many queer names? I'll prefer to work harder on my English language.

jingyang_nfls: You've improved a lot. I'd say you are very good. But sometimes you use pecuilar word like "annum" It's not in the dictionary

yeyj: I have no chance to see those things. Maybe a bit too lazy sometimes. Anyhow, Singapore is an Orient country, so there are not so many western things as in Houghton

yeyj: "Per annum" is in the dictionary.

jingyang_nfls: Those things? So you like the Sciences better?

jingyang_nfls: annually would be good enough

yeyj: Thanks!

jingyang_nfls: i don't know if I spelt that right, horrible speller as I am.

yeyj: Science usually don't cost so much nerve cells.

jingyang_nfls: What do you do except reading or sending emails online?

jingyang_nfls: Biology is my favorite so far.

yeyj: Reading news, building website (just a trifle).

jingyang_nfls: My parents say that a career in Biology has no future.

jingyang_nfls: But genetic subjects are cool.

jingyang_nfls: Like your own webpage? when can I see it?

yeyj: I like it as well, but cannot learn it unfortunately.

jingyang_nfls: I did want to make one of my own, but don't have enough time or the strong will.

jingyang_nfls: I've always wondered what a day in your school would be like. You never fully decribed it..

yeyj: Really? Even nurses is in shortage in Singapore. That is, staff in hospital usually get high wage while few people would choose to do that.

yeyj: How much have I done? My friends often chastise me for repeating a single incedent.

jingyang_nfls: That's singapore. I don't know about the U.S. Computer is the most popular career and business, too.

jingyang_nfls: I didn't, though, right? at least I think so.

jingyang_nfls: How often do you email them anyways? They certainly didn't have enough time to reply.

yeyj: We have the flag-raising at 7.25am on the terrace, then there is the reading section: Chinese Newspaper (you may visit zaobao.com to see it) on Tuesday and Wednesday, magazines......

yeyj: (Continued) Usually Newsweek will be distributed on Thursday and Friday.

jingyang_nfls: That's early. I am such a night-owl that I wish school starts at 9 a.m. or something.

jingyang_nfls: Like U.S. newsweek?

yeyj: Yes, only the ad is the Asia-edition.

jingyang_nfls: Never had the patience to read through that magazine. I like People, Time, or Life better. More close to real life.

yeyj: We have six periods per day, each fifty minutes. But there are only two recesses in between, so the school would be over at 1.30pm.

jingyang_nfls: We had to watch Channal One everyday. I completely loathe the show. Talks bad stuff about all other countries, esp. China and it makes people think that U.S. is the best country in the world.

yeyj: So do we, my classmates even play computer games at that time in case no teacher is present.

jingyang_nfls: And do you have study halls after that?

yeyj: What do you mean by that?

yeyj: Doesn't seem to be.

jingyang_nfls: like zi shi?

jingyang_nfls: We are staying longer in school.

jingyang_nfls: 7 one-hour period.

yeyj: ¡Á?¨º¡À¡ê?

jingyang_nfls: like the xi in study.

jingyang_nfls: my pingying is even horrible now.

jingyang_nfls: Oh..........

jingyang_nfls: the board of education is still talking about longer hours for a class and staying longer in school.

jingyang_nfls: Do you have as much homework compared to China?

yeyj: Don't consider us as too leisure. Some of the students have EP3 (ECA) after school, others attend remedial, enhanced lessons, random talks or whatever.

jingyang_nfls: At least that is called extracurricular activity...

jingyang_nfls: You must be interested in it to join the clubs, right?

yeyj: Not really. Teachers usually left no homework after class except geography... My god.

yeyj: Yeah, heard to be Enhanced Pupils' P~~ Programme.

jingyang_nfls: Hey, I had to do a 10 page report in Geography last year, but I took the easy way out, I did China for my country research paper.

jingyang_nfls: Did you do a slide show in the end?

jingyang_nfls: for your project, I mean..

yeyj: Sure, once told you I joined Chinese Calligraphy, didn't I? The boredom is that there are no many skills you can learn there.

jingyang_nfls: I am not an expert in that, so I cannot say much about it. You did win a lot of prizes, right?

yeyj: We have gone through the preliminary round successful, then there comes the semi-final. Slide show is certainly essential as well as a specific website.

jingyang_nfls: just being curious, what's your favorite subject?

yeyj: Sorry, successfully.

jingyang_nfls: semi-final? is it like a competition?

yeyj: English. That's what I can get the most potential energy. However, students and teacher feel like playing games then. I mean, pretty casual.

jingyang_nfls: English literature or the composition of the language itself? Grammer?

yeyj: Absolutely. We have three rounds: prelim, semi and final, the longer one sustain the selection, the more cp he get.

jingyang_nfls: I don't feel like that I am learning anything in our English class. I cannot see the difference between a Senior english class and Sophomore English class.

jingyang_nfls: Interesting... We did a half an hour of presentation, where students wore the country's tradtional clothes and cooked their food.

jingyang_nfls: and talked about the country's history and landform, of course.

yeyj: English never seems to be so nice. Recently we were practising phonetics and oral. However, teachers can teach whatever they want, but all preparing for O-level.

jingyang_nfls: Quit changing your font and size!!

jingyang_nfls: OK. They don't teach grammar here. We learned world literature that's translated into English.

yeyj: How is your project? I don't think anyone here would present like that. You see, our works are strictly divided in five catalogues for the competition purpose.

jingyang_nfls: and learned a bunch of literature terms like "scansion" or "archytypal"

yeyj: Don't kill me,\

yeyj: Sorry for the error.

jingyang_nfls: Well, I went crazy when we were actually writing the paper itself, the citing and bibliography. The presentation went fine. I wore a "qi bao".

yeyj: You can visit our school's website and click the extreme left corner to know more about the competition.

jingyang_nfls: Well. My online time is over. Had to follow the next item on my schedule. Strict, right? Guess I have to talk to you tomorrow.

yeyj: That's really nice, except "qi bao" which I don't understand. But what's your theme of the project?

jingyang_nfls: I certainly hope that everytime the chatting will be all smooth like this.

jingyang_nfls: Chinese culture.

yeyj: Ok, then... Buy!

yeyj: Wait...

jingyang_nfls: bye, excuse me.

yeyj: Fine.

yeyj: Check your hotmail!

jingyang_nfls: Network error. Just send me an offline message. I really have to go now. Same time tomorrow.

yeyj: I've left already.
