YFC
in detail
CFC-Youth For Christ consists of very
enthusiastic young men and women who are eager to serve God and
their community. This is a group which is part of the Couples For
Christ ministry which can be found all over the world. Ther are
many chapters of YFC which can be found in places as near as
Ottawa, New Jersey, and Maryland. However, it can also be found
in places as far as Australia and the Philippines.
The youth camp is the 'entrance' to the group. Meetings occur
regularly, as well as get-togethers. The members in the Toronto
chapter are scattered all over Southern Ontario. As of now, we
are around 300. The ages range from 12 to the early 20's.
Many of the current members of YFC strongly believe in this
statement: .
YFC gives youth a chance to develope life-long friendships with
peers, and with the One who matters the most, God.
What does YFC stand for?
YFC stands for Youth For Christ. It is a simple, yet very effective title. It's short, but sweet, and to the point.
Youth for Christ (YFC) is the Young Adults Program of the Couples of Christ (CFC). It is a response to the evangelistic call of God to CFC wherein massive evagelization will bring everyone to His Kingdom. YFC is a means of renewing young adults and of providing a venue where they can respond to God's only holiness.

How do you become a member of CFC-YFC?
To become a YFC member, there is a retreat which one needs to attend. the retreat lasts 3 days and 2 nights. It costs around $60 for the whole retreat. To fully appreciate the value of the retreat and to make the most out of it, it must be seen not just as a 3-day experience where the teenagers can have FUN, (altough this is also important), but in the light of the overall objectives of the Youth Camp, so that the youth can develop to be joyful;r responsible and fruitful men and women of God. We should realize that the camp is not an end in itself, but the beginning of a relationship with God and those in YFC.
What is YFC about?
YFC recognizes that the members are in a "fast growth" stage in life. It is during this time when formation is fastest. It encompasses various aspects of the young adult's life. The activities, therefore, also relate to the formation, while constantly putting the Christian dimension that a young adult does.
CFC Youth for Christ, therefore is envisioned to be the vehicle for the Christian transformation of the youth.
The Philosophy of Youth for Christ
We in Youth For Christ believe...
That God is calling everyone to a personal relationship with Him through His Son, Jesus Christ.
That this call is not exclusive but shared with all sectors of society, regardless of age, colour, nationality, status, and beliefs in life.
That the youth have a very special place in God's heart, and that they in return have a very deep sense of love for God, and that a personal relationship with Jesus Christ is something they desire.
That the youth have a vibrant, energetic, dynamic, and free-spirit nature. Rather than denying this nature and force the youth into a mold that stisfies our own perception of Christianity and holiness, we accept this nature, not curtailing it, but re-channeling, into an acitve expression and submission and participation to the plan of God.
That the youth realize the need to make decisions in life; but they should also know that as they do, God should always be an inseperable part of these decisions; Knowing also that they are future leaders of the families and societies, we realize that this future depends on how they are molded today as God's children.
That the youth grow not only from what they recieve, but more through what they are able to share with others.
That youth are responsible as long as they are given the appropriate amount of guidance.
