The counter tool is a great free tool from Geocities,
but a counter that just says "0009" when visitors come can be a little embarrasing. No matter how great your page is your new hit counter will always start with zeros for a time (unless of course you launch a multi-million doller ad campain, but then why are you visiting this site?)
If you do not want lot's of zeros starting your counter, you have three choices:
1. Leave it alone, and in the counter manager (link below) add 1000 to your counter, however this can make it hard to keep a accurate count.
2. Get rid of it, but it won't count that way.
3. Shrink it so small that you can't see it.

See that little dot in the brackets? Thats the above counter. We just shrunk it!
This can be done simply by adding " height=1 width=1" to the end of your counter.
(<img src="/cgi-bin/counter/" height=1 width=1>)
If you want to see how many visitors you have just visit the counter manager.
