There is a filthy place deep in the slums of Rio de Janeiro called Cicade do Lixo. Translated literally, "City of Trash." This is a place where the criminals and the insane live in fatal poverty- surrounded by starvation, death and human excrement.
In do Lixo, strange things happen, but none so strange as the small white child found after wandering in the sewers for days. An American journalist finds there may be more than he can handle in the blackmarkets of Rio once he steps into the City of Trash to retreive the girl and face what natives call Espírito da Noite- the spirit of night...
