14 Dec 2003 - 1st dive @ Ko Bida Nok

Not much @ this site - school of Snappers
Smooth Flute mouth
huge schools of 2 spot snapper - very common fishes here
Very curious combo- a orange lined trigger? following a titan trigger around

Went snorkelling at Beach near Maya Bay as in "The Beach" Movie.

14 Dec 2003 - 2nd Dive for the Day - Ko Bida Nai. Great Site - Friendly Leopard Sharks

Thought it will be another boring dive, but then Nick (the UK instructor) frantically pointed out the Leopard shark above us ! It swam right up to us before swimming away. Before we knew it, it came back to investigate on us further....nice :-)

My very first sighting of banded sea krait - very beautiful critters

BEAUTIFUL Sunset in Ko Lanta

Day 3 Diving (16th Dec 03)
Hin Muang & Hin Daeng (Supposely one of the worlds' top dive sites) - to see Manta & Whale Sharks

Hin Muang (Purple Rock) - extremely crowded, homo sapien everywhere !!!
Nothing really different,
nice nudibranch & yellow snapper

Hin Daeng (Red rock) - did not manage to see Manta Ray, much less whale shark...but i suspect this is a cleaning station for for them (Lots of cleaner wrasse around)

The Red corals which gives Hin Daeng its name
Rich marine Life (L to R).. orange line trigger fish, Golden sergeant and Emperor Angelfish....most of them having their body cleaned by cleaner wrasse

Jelly Fish (Lots of them)
