The "Gleam of Triumph" DISCLAIMER: Please do not write any angry emails protesting theories. Send in your counterpoint with proof and I'll post it on the site.

- The fourth book said that, "...Harry thought he saw a gleam of something like triumph in Dumbledore's eyes..."
Reasons
- Voldemort can now be defeated.
- Hagrid said that Voldemort "didn't have enough human in him to die."
- Since Voldemort has Harry's blood in his veins, maybe he is human enough now.
- Dumbledore realizes that Voldemort was careless and forgot this. Although Voldemort is alive and can kill Harry, he is very vulnerable.
- Voldemort's history of negligence supports this theory. He forgot that phoenix tears have healing powers in the Chamber of Secrets and that sacrificing your life is a powerful countercurse when he tried to kill Harry.
Dumbledore is Evil?
- Unlikely considering his history
- Sarumon the White? Hopefully not; there are too many similarities with LOTR already.
- Sarumon turned evil and went to Sauron to gain power, but since Dumbledore is already more powerful than Voldemort, why would he go to Voldemort?
- Aczay64 says: I have yet another theory; I think that Dumbledore and [Fudge, I presume? You left out a name] are evil. I know this sounds crazy but they have been bending and even breaking rules for Harry as we all know nothing appears the way it really is in J.K. Rowling's world she has been leading us to trust those two the most when really they are pulling a Professor Moody and now they are going to kill him. This is why Dumbledore
said the total of Professor Trelawny's predictions was two, because he
knew that he would kill Harry and she has been predicting that from the beginning and all of you are saying why did he protect him? Well really he hasn't kept him out of trouble and kept him in Hogwarts to build his trust and so when finally Voldemort had Harry's blood, he could kill Harry and Voldemort at the same time and be the most powerful person in the wizarding world. (While I think it is farfetched that Dumbledore is evil, it's very reasonable to believe that someone else could be pulling a Professor Moody.)
