New DADA Teacher DISCLAIMER: Please do not write any angry emails protesting theories. Send in your counterpoint with proof and I'll post it on the site.

- There will be a new Defense Against the Dark Arts Teacher next year, because Crouch is gone and it's not probable that Moody will want to teach again after being imprisoned in his trunk...
Possible people: Arabella Figg | Fleur Delacour | Severus Snape | 3 Empty Positions?
Why Arabella Figg?
- She's the most likely choice, and yes, she is Harry's neighbor first mentioned in The Sorcerer's Stone.
- J.K. Rowling says that there will be a female DADA teacher.
- We do find out more about her, so this might be how.
- Mrs. Figg's more experienced than Fleur, and she's friends with Dumbledore.
- On a side note, I can't wait to see the look on Harry's face if she really is the new teacher...
- To go off topic a little more, has anyone notice how J.K. Rowling keeps mentioning cabbage with Arabella Figg (the smell of her house)? And how the polyjuice potion in book 2 tasted like overcooked cabbage? Just something to think about...

Is she trying to protect him? I would think that Mrs. Figg is Harry's secret keeper. In the GoF, Rowling gave alot of subtle hints about Harry is safest at the Dursleys. Mad-Eye/Crouch Jr. said Dumbledore has his reasons to keep Harry there. Mrs. Weasly said Dumbledore declined the invitation for Harry to stay with him because he had his reasons. So Whadya think?
Why Fleur?
- Just a possibility
- "I want to get a job here to improve my English."
- On the other hand, she couldn't beat the grindylows in the second task and Dumbledore wouldn't hire someone that inexperienced.
Why Snape?
- He's been after the job for years. He might get it now.
- Yes, I realize he's not a female.
3 Empty Positions?
- Defense Against the Dark Arts
- Care of Magical Creatures, because Hagrid might be going to see the giants.
- Potions, because Snape is going on a mission, but since we don't know what it is, he may not have to leave Hogwarts to complete it.
- Here's Aczay64's theory: The three open teaching jobs (DADA, Potions because Snape is on his mission, and care of magical creatures because Hagrid will go see the giants) will be filled by Arabella Figg, Remus Lupin, and Mundungus Fletcher otherwise known as the old crowd. This would also be the return of lupin everyone is talking about. Figg will be DADA teacher because the position is going to be filled by a woman. Lupin would care of magical creature because he has first hand experience considering he is a werewolf. So that leaves Fletcher as the potions master.
