Audrey Hepburn was born as a blue-blood but spent her life as a famous movie star and humanitarian.

Audrey Hepburn made her stage debut in 1948 as a ballerina in the musical "High Button Shoes"and later danced in "Sauce Tartare."After some intial film roles in other countries, she was finally chosen to play the starring role in a broadway hit show "Gigi." Afterwards, she was tapped to play the Princess Anne in "Roman Holiday" (1953), opposite Gregory Peck. Her performance in the movie earned Audrey her first and only academy award. It is also in this movie that her legendary screen career really started to take-off.

Afterwards, Audrey appeared in numerous films such as "Sabrina," "War and Peace," "Funny Face," "The Nun's Story," "Breakfast at Tifanny's," Oscar best picture winner "My Fair Lady," among others. Her last starring role was in the movie "Love Among Thieves." However, before she died, Audrey did a cameo role in Steven Spielberg's "Always" as the angel Hap.

On Broadway, Audrey starred in "Odine" in which she won the Drama Critics' Award. Her co-star Mel Ferrer later on became her husband. She again co-starred with her husband in the television movie "Mayerling."

Aside from these, Audrey also appeared in various magazines and commercials.

In 1987, Audrey was chosen to succeed the late Danny Kaye as a Goodwill Ambasador for UNICEF. She continued her work in UNICEF until the end of 1992 when she was diagnosed as having colon cancer. Four months before her 64th birthday, Audrey Hepburn died.
