Getting Started With
Mountain Euchre

Mountain Euchre is a euchre league geared towards player satisfaction. The league plays daily tourneys and has a separate ranking structure for its players. This is a brief outline to get all new players situated and show them the basics to signing up and playing in this league. All new players should read through the full listing of rules. This is just an outline. Easy access to all of the selections is listed along the left side of the Mountain Euchre web page. Good luck and have fun out there.

Signing up with Mountain Euchre

1. Log onto the main page. Either www.myleague.com/ymeuchre or www.igl.net/ymeuchre. Please bookmark this page in your favorites.
Creating a new account
1. Click on Free Sign-up. There will be four items to fill out. But it is all quick and painless.
2. Ladder Name & Password. Enter your ladder name and password. Your ladder name has to match your Yahoo name exactly. This will prevent misreports of matches.
3. Email Address. Enter your email address. Please enter an email that is regularly checked. This email will be how all players, Tournament Directors or Admins will get in contact with you. As soon as you enter this info, an activation key will be e-mailed to this address.
4. LadderBux Bonus Chance. To register in tourneys most will require LadderBux. They are like money, but not real money. You will win bux for finishing well or winning tourneys. By leaving the 2 boxes checked marked in this selection, you will start with 100 LadderBux.
5. Activate Account. You will want to retrieve the 3-digit activation key that was e-mailed to you. This will activate your new account with Mountain Euchre. You are only allowed to have one account per person. All multiple accounts will be deleted.

Signing up and playing
in tournaments
The largest draw to this league is the multiple tourneys held everyday.
The TDs (Tournament Directors) host the tourneys.
This keeps the ladder very active and is the largest draw to playing in the league.
This section will briefly outline signing up and playing in the tourneys.

Locating Tourney Calendar

1. There are several places tourneys are listed. On Mountain's main page, towards middle of page, there will be the complete calendar of the days events. Also on the left is a link,  Tourney Calendar, which will give you the full days, weeks, or month of tourneys.  You will see a list showing the time of each tourney (all times are EST) as well as the hosting TD.  It is recommended that you sign up 15-30 mins before the tourney starts. This will give you plenty of time to get all set up and find a partner if you need to.
2. Or you can manually type in the tourney number. On the left side of Mountain's main page, under Tournaments, is "Tourney Jump" with an empty box. Type the jump # into the box to open the tourney's main page. You will find the hosting TD in Adv. 10 lobby 30 minutes prior to tourneys start. The TD will give you the jump #.
Registering for a tourney
Once you have gotten to the tourney page, you will have to register for that tournament.
1. First - Click on the Register button.
1. If creating a new team, type that name into the space provided. Or use the pull down menu to join an existing team.
3. Enter the password for that team. This password should be something simple and easy to remember. Generally 123 or some password like that is chosen.
4. Or you can check the button next to Auto Team. You will be automatically paired with another player at tourney start.
5. Please insert your ladder name and password.
6. Check the read rules page. It is required that you read the rules for that tournament. There are a variety of specialty tourneys, so please make sure you know what the rules are for that particular tourney.
7. Then click register.
8. The same procedure is used when you are withdrawing your team from that tourney as well. You will just click on withdraw though.
Checking in for tourney
If you join a tourney more than 30 minutes in advance, then you will need to check in for the tourney. To check in, just click on the Teams/Check-In button. Then click on the yellow Check-In button. Then just enter the team name and password. This will let the TD know your team is ready to play. However, if you sign up after the TD has opened the Check-In process (usually 30 minutes prior to tourney start), you will automatically be checked in after you register.
Rules – The Rules selection is just that. This specifies the rules for that tourney. Please read these before each tourney.
Pairings – The Pairings selection will layout the matches to be played. This is most prominent in the Swiss Style tourneys.
Standings - The Standings selection will show the bracket style listings of the tourney. This will show whom you will play in your upcoming matches.
Report – The Report selection is to be used to file all losses within a tourney. The most common mistake by new players is to report a loss in a tourney to the main page. This will cause you to have 2 losses to your opponents. When a loss occurs in a tourney, please make this selection. You will enter your team's password and then click next to the team that won the match.
Playing and Reporting a non-tourney match
You may also play against other cases members anytime you would like. There are many games going on after or in between tourneys. To initiate a game, just ask if there are any case players interested in a game. It is never very difficult to find a game. You can only play against another player three times a day. However, you can run across that same player many times in a tourney that same day.
It is the loser's responsibility to report the losses of these matches. If you lose a cases match, click on the Report Loss selection on the main page. You will insert your ladder name and password. And you will insert both of the players that beat you. It is recommended that you use a notepad to keep track of the players that you play everyday. This prevents playing against the same players more than three times. And also allows you to track the reports from other players.
