Interview
This is an interview that I made with Yngwie in the end of July. Soon, I'll put more parts of it. Enjoy!
1. Why Anthology? Where did this idea come from?
YM: After a career starting in 1984, the labels thought it time for a greatest hit album.
2. Why a cover song of ABBA in this album instead of a song from your Inspiration album?
YM: ABBA has a great sense of melody. See the latest fan club newsletter for more on this.
3. Do you still have demos from your early
days in Sweden?
YM: Yes, in fact YJM Merchandising is going to perhaps sell a never before seen videotape of early Rising Force from those days soon.
4. How can I get your video clips as the songs "Teaser" and "Dragonfly"?
YM:Don't know. Have not seen or thought of those for years.. Ha Ha!
5. I'd like you tell me something from your new album that is coming soon.
YM:This album marks the first with a new manager and many good things are happening. including a strong possibility of a new North American, South American and Canadian record deal. The entire back catalog should be released also in the US and South America. >
6. I've heard you love to play bass. What is your favorite brand?
YM: Fender, custom made Tele style but also have used Rickenbacker on 7th Sign. >
7. Will Millennium album have tour?
YM:Playing Concerto next year in Japan with the Japanese Philharmonic. Already sold out the first 2 nights.
8. I've known that you built a new studio to record the drum part of your > songs to put in your next albums. Could you describe me what you put into it? As the equipment.
YM: Otari 24 track digital recorder, Otari elite mixing console, Studer 24 track analog recorder, Focusrite preamps, Yamaha Rev 500 reverbs. >
9. I saw you in old ads such as: crate and aria. Have you ever used those equipment at least once to play a concert or to record an album?
YM: Crates were for backstage warmups.. mostly use small fenders now. Used Aria nylon string classical from time to time like on Dreaming (Odyssey Album).
10. How is going the sale of your album "Alchemy"?
YM: Alchemy has done VERY well !!
11. Do you have an idea what will the title of your next album?
YM: Have a few ideas, but that's a surprise.
12. Why don't you play the bonus songs in your concert?
YM: Other songs are much stronger
13. How was the gig that you played in Sweden Festival?
YM: Great.
14. How is your status in Sweden?
YM:Treated like a National Hero like on the recent Sweden Rock Festval in front of 40,000 fans.
15. Which decade do you think that was the best for your music, 80's or 90's?
YM:The music doesn't change, just the fads that come and go. People will tire of the junk that's out there today and hard rock will come back in favor again.
